Jennie has it right. I think it’s best to call the school if you’re really in doubt, but it seems that it takes them a while to get all the info collected and posted.

i submitted my application long ago, but it still says "“unable to show status now check back later” it’s been like that for a few weeks, i emailed and got no reply… what should i do?

Does anyone have the same status as mine? For me it reads:
Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2010)
We have received and are currently reviewing your application. We recommend you check here occasionally for an update on the status of your application.

I also cannot view the documents that they have received when i click on “Admission Documents.” Do you think I should call and ask to fix this error?

stevenboi27: I have the same message…not sure if it’s still the first stage or there has already been a previous one which I just happened to have ignored…hmm.

I can’t find this admissions checklist you speak of!
Now I’m afraid.

Application Status:

The University of Southern California is pleased to offer the ability of students to receive online messages regarding the status of their application. However, all decision notifications are made via postal mail.

Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2010)
Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1. If for some reason you don’t receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.

I think to get to the checklist, you have to click on “admission documents” which is located next to the “undergraduate application” button under the “admission” tab. But for me, when i click on admission documents, it displays an error message.

You have to go here, and create a different kind of account. At least that’s what we had to do. Not sure if it messed anything up. It seems some people have/had the checklist without doing this:

My S doesn’t even have the “admission” tab under “undergraduate application” spoken of in the post above.

Okay, i found the link referred to in the post above mine. I guess what we did was we used the “paper application” way of accessing the checklist, even though my S applied online. Strange. And I, too, get an error when trying to use the method for those who submitted online. Maybe because I’m on a mac and don’t have internet explorer. No way I’m switching to PC, not even for USC.

Instead of faxing or sending the documents in by mail, we can upload them through the OASIS website? If so, can I upload my high school transcript and send it that way? However, the cover sheet that is provided on there says for college/univeristy transcript and that sheet is for Fall 2005 admissions only. I am really confused :(.

stvenboi27, yes, you can FAX, mail, email or upload. USC admissions is very flexible. If you have already self-reported your academic history and asked your school to send official transcripts, there is no need to FAX, mail, email or upload an unofficial transcript - they already have the unofficial information from your self-reported academic history (that was where you entered your classes and grades year-by-year in the online application).

If you haven’t requested official transcripts use Form 7 http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/1011/Form7_2010.pdf . Fill out the student information, sign and give to the registrar at your school. This does not have to be rushed - USC will use your self-reported information to consider your application and verify with official reports later.

Good luck!
