@bluspaced I emailed them just in case about it
I wish that it wasn’t May 15 when we hear! Any chance that we could hear earlier?
@cahopeful2020 I thought the date that we hear was May 13th.
My bad I meant May 13
@thatguy1266 Emailing sounds like it was a good idea. Did you happen to get a response yet?
@bluspaced I did not. Which school/major at USC are you appealing?
@bluspaced @thatguy1266 or you could try calling their office haha, I did and they confirmed it for me
@thatguy1266 I actually sent an email too and got a response saying that if it’s received then they have do in fact have it, so it sounds like you’re all set. I’m appealing Dornsife/Environmental Studies. What about you?
@bluspaced School of Cinematic Arts/Film and Television Production
I talked to an admissions counselor at SCA and the decisions there are final. I appealed for USC, too, but only for general admission. @thatguy1266
@filmdreamer23 Really? A couple years ago on the 2012 USC Appeals Thread at least four people got appeals to SCA
Also, I think that may only apply to Fall Admission.
I sure hope that’s the case, haha! But as far as I know, it’s not. I applied for Film Production, too. Best of luck to you on your appeal.
@filmdreamer23 thanks, you too.
Numbers will be different for each school each year. Sometimes they are full or past capacity, other time not, depends on the actions of many other people. My guess is not many people walk away from SCA and it is not a huge program, so they probably have the best grasp of their numbers than any of the schools.
@CADREAMIN That’s probably why back in 2012 four people got into SCA through appeals. Let’s not forget that USC is now 69,000 a year and more people might have to turn it down because it’s so expensive.
Has anyone gotten word on if their appeal was overturned? I know they say May 13 but I was curious if anyone had an earlier luck!
@cahopeful2020 I don’t think they release them until May 13 regardless.
USC is running ahead of last year on statements of intent to register, so I would be surprised if any of the programs will have open spaces after May 1.
Ya thatguy1266, I was just going on what filmdreamer23 mentioned - that she had talked to SCA and it sounded like they are done (if I interpreted that comment correctly). Some schools have probably reached their numbers. I wish you all the best of luck!
