USC Applicants

Has anyone who sent in transcripts received any kind of message from SC confirming they arrived?

I sent mine certified mail and got the receipt back 3 days later. Nothing official from the school, however. My credit card payment went through though, so I assume things are rolling.

well i called the school and asked if everything was recieved on time. I sent my stuff overnight like 3 days before the deadline (i am a procrastinator). Anyways, out of sheer curiosity, what are your guys' stats?

has everyone else's credit card/debit card ben charged yet? USC still hasn't charged me for anything
Does this mean they are missing some information?

I haven't called them yet.. but I wrote them an email couple weeks ago, they sent the automated message stating due to the high influx of emails, mine won't be replied to for a month or so.. so I'm still waiting.

I came across a PDF file showing the transfer rate and it showed the # of people that applied for transfer, # of people accepted, etc. Very detailed, not the one inside the transfer booklet. I can't find it anymore. If anyone has the link, please post.

I think the number was around 600 that applied as transfer, and about 200 admitted. So about a 30% admit rate.

I also have a question, for the business major, USC ONLY takes into account the transferable grades right? I suppose that will help me.. as my cumulative is pretty low compared to their "recommended" GPA.

I'm currently taking accounting I and thinking of dropping it, anybody know how USC looks at withdraws?

One last question, for the GE courses that may transfer, how do I determine which one will transfer? I took a bunch of random courses at an out of state university... so how can I figure out which courses will be used to calculate the GPA?

Thanks....

I love USC, its the greatest school ever. Still awaiting my decision. Hope I get in. Please Jesus Christ, let it be!

Hopeless, every class that is transferable factors into your gpa.

Wannabe, i'm a business major with 3.8 gpa.

600 applied?! ***. nearly 7000 transfer apply each year. when i went to transfer day, i think the statistic was around 2500 got in. it was slightly better than the admit % for freshman applicants. Around 30% or so

does being out of state help? or disadvantage?

hey domino, how do I know which courses are transferable?
I know economics, calculus, english 1 and 2, accounting, will transfer but how about all the science courses, General education courses such as psychology, computer related courses, etc.

Has everyone else been charged the application fee already??

USCwannabe, maybe it was 6000... all I know is that the number was around 6-7.. and the people admitted was in the 2-3 (forgot if it was hundreds or thousands). It was about a 30% admit rate though

Everything in the articulation agreement transfers. (<a href="http://www.usc.edu/dept/ARR/articulation/%5B/url%5D">http://www.usc.edu/dept/ARR/articulation/</a>)</p>

So, yes all sciences, GE's, and computer classes will count in your gpa.
