I'm a finance and accounting major, planning on transferring as a junior for Fall '10. Right now I'm looking at USC, Chapman, and LMU. Are there any other school I should be looking at?

My GPA right now is pretty low, 3.53, but I'm hoping to pull that up to a 3.6 after this semester and even higher after the spring semester. SCU and UC schools are off the list since I don't have two calc courses (Unless Finite Math counts as a calc course). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if you want to stay in socal it’s a good list, you might add sdsu…they’re suppose to have a good business school.

as far as admission chances I think you’re a big-reach at USC, a match at LMU, and Chapman is your safety. Given the demand I’ve heard of for SDSU biz school, that may be a slight-reach as well.

Well they require two semesters of calculus, which is what I meant by Bus Calc and another semester of Calculus. Calc I and Calc II instead of Bus Calc and Calc I would of course be an option, but not for me. Of course UCLA was pretty much out anyway due to my GPA (As is USC probably, but I’m aiming for a 3.8 this semester and the next to bring my GPA up).

Dang, is that true? I thought Marshall required Bus Calc (MATH 118 or MATH 125 (Business Calculus) per the transfer guide)? I would’ve just taken Calc I if I had known. But yeah, I know USC’s a long shot so I’m not holding my breath, I’m applying mainly because my gf is there right now.

So SDSU, Chapman, and LMU should be on my short list? I’m at the University of Portland right now fwiw.
