@Beaverdalemom the wait is agonizing! My dad and I are losing sleep. Lol

I feel your pain! My sonās a lot calmer about it than I am. Can I ask what other school you are considering? He has been admitted to Chapman as a screenwriting major.

Someone a few pages back said those who do not receive a scholarship will get a letter about a week later saying they are still under consideration for admission and will hear by April 1st.

I have an āRSVP for admitted students!ā Holy crap! I shouldnāt assume that this means Iām in, but it seems like it would suggest that? Does anyone who lives in the LA area and didnāt get a package have this on USC connect? I called my mom and told her but I donāt want to have been wrong because I jumped to conclusions lol.

MissxSilverwing, that would be a fair assumption! Congrats! Your packet is very likely arriving today, or is at least on its way. (This will undoubtedly happen for others before they receive their packets. I wonder why USC doesnāt just embrace online decisions already!)

@Beaverdalemom

I have been accepted into San Francisco State university, University of San Francisco, and St. Johnās in Queens, NY, all into their (not-as-superb-as-USCās) film programs. Iāve also applied to Emerson, whose production program, I hear, is up there in the list of good film schools. I know USC would be the best school to get into, though. The campus, resources, and the āgeopoliticalā proximity to Hollywood are unmatchable.

I would think all the online stuff would go up at the same time, so I would venture to guess if you donāt have anything in USC connect you can quit standing by the mailbox?

Cadreamin, not necessarily. In the past, USConnect has been wonky, and things sometimes do seem to change at their own pace. There are many of stories of students with packets in hand and their RSVP tab taking seemingly forever to show up.

What about international students? Has anyone already been accepted?

Thatās what Iām thinking, but Iām pretty biased haha. This is such an awesome surprise! I wasnāt expecting a lot from the college admissions process, but this plus Oxford Scholars has made me more hopeful!

Silverwing,
Do you mind sharing your stats?

34 ACT, 2210 SAT, 3.97 UW GPA but straight Aās since second semester freshmen year. School doesnāt rank or weight grades but I am in the top quartile. 5ās on Spanish, Euro, Enviro, Lang, Gov. 790 Lit subject test, 740 Spanish with Reading, no listening. Really liked my essays. If you want more specifics (ex ECās) look at my old chances thread - I will also post in the stats thread when/if I actually get scholarship info in the mail.

Was this under messages on USConnect?

It was under āevents.ā There is a new box that says āRSVP for admitted students.ā

Yes! I got the RSVP for admitted students too! Itās a new option under events! I live in the Southeast.

There is also a new Enrollment Deposit Confirmation under the Admission tab in place of the Application Status Check

I also have the enrollment deposit!

Just got my letter in the mail today! Finalist for trustee scholarship at Viterbi!

Beaverdale Mom, did you say applicants to the School of Cinematic Arts who applied by Dec. 1 are supposed to hear by early Feb. no matter what? My daughter applied for animation. I can be patient another week or two if I know it is coming in Feb. Where did you hear that?

Smother:

From the USC Admissions Blog

With that being said, you will receive one of two possible letters in the beginning of February:
1. The first letter you could receive is an offer of admission, along with scholarship information. Certain scholarships require an interview before they are awarded. Details about this interview process, if applicable to the scholarship, will be included in your letter.
2. The second (and, regrettably, less exciting) letter that you could receive is one that states you are no longer being considered for a merit scholarship, but that you are still being considered for admission to USC. You will find out whether or not you have been admitted to USC by April 1st, which is the same time that people who submitted their application after December 1st will be informed of their decision.

Smother, I saw it on the USC admission blog. I wish weād just find out now, but it looks like decisions come quite a bit later for those who arenāt receiving scholarships.
