USC Class of 2017 Applicants!

I realized we don't have a thread like this yet!
Who else applied for USC class of 2017? I am already nervous/excited to hear back from then and it's not for quite a while.
Who else applied for the scholarship deadline? I heard if you are considered for a scholarship you get notified in January ish, any idea?

So....who else is hoping to get in? Did anyone interview and what school is everyone applying for? :)

My D applied and she received an email about the Topping scholarship yesterday. I guess she got it because she’s a first generation college student.

I applied Electrical engineering! I also applied before the scholarship deadline. I heard we hear sometime around late January/early February.

I applied for the merit scholarship this year as well! I’m super nervous about not getting it because although my GPA is up there, my test scores are unfortunately below their average. :frowning: I just hope my community involvement along with my essays and some praying will help my chances! lol

I’m applying to their Disease prevention and Health Promotion major.

Sent from my HTC-PG762 using CC

I applied before the scholarship deadline for the Interactive Media major with Japanese as my second choice. It was more me asking questions than an interview, but I was able to set up an hour to with one of the IM professors at the School of Cinematic Arts when I visited last month
I hope everyone makes a good impression!! Fingers crossed

@enzajunior-- most likely only some students will hear back from USC in late January/early February. The majority of those who applied by 12/1 will get their decisions in late March if things go the way they have in previous years. Those invited to interview for the Trustee/Presidential scholarships have traditionally been sent packets during this earlier time frame (so they can interview in late Feb/early March). Some students receiving Dean’s scholarships also are sometimes sent early acceptance packages as well even though they do not need to interview for the scholarship.

However, the majority of students will probably hear in March, unless things change from previous years (which could happen).

I applied to Film and TV production at SCA  Also for the scholarship deadline

@alialae i also applied to film and tv production at SCA! wishing us both the best, fingers crossed to all of you :)

I applied to the Marshall School of Business, also before December 1st.

I hope the odds are in all of our favors! :-)

@cornerstate great! maybe we’ll see each other there next year! crosses fingers good luck to everyone!

I applied a week after the scholarship deadline, just because I didn’t think I would be considered for because I am pretty sure that I wouldn’t qualify. I said I wanted to major in history-so far the Dornsife College and I also had an interview with them. I just really hope I get in so that I can rub it in my teachers face…

Applied to USC as a Science major. Hopefully we all get in !!! Also, is getting an email about the Topping Scholarship a good sign? Or do a lot of people get this?

I got an email about the topping scholarship but didn’t get the financial aid packet mailed to me if that means anything

@Lauren933. Nice. I’m just worried about my brother. I received a financial aid packet but he hasn’t.

@Rebolution90 Yeah someone I know personally also received the financial aid packet and she lives in the same city as me…but oh we’ll I think I will get it eventually. Maybe USC got confused about your brother having the same address as you and they didn’t want to send it twice lol

^I’m confused. So your acceptance letter is inside the financial aid packet? Or is it just informational papers?

No apparently it’s just packet telling you to apply for FAFSA and stuff. Theres no acceptance letter. For some reason only a few people got it.

@lauren933 Well I hope that’s the case haha.
@Curious. It’s not an acceptance letter. It’s a little informational packet that basically talks about financial aid.
