USC Class of 2017 Applicants!

Georgia Girl

Yeah, I didn’t really know how to word it. lol I was trying to something like USC received half of the applications UCLA did. You’re right. :)

ilovemyego23

I know right? I read a blog on USC’s website about how they view the applications and it described how much they collaborate with each other on each applicant, and that it what I call holistic and commitment if they read ALL 47,000 applications like that. lol :)

^^ I read that too…

I was like…YES…please discuss…please please discuss…because wit so many views… people are bound to notice different qualities. Its really based on perception.

Hi everyone! I’ve mostly been reading this thread and not commenting but as I count down the minutes to Friday I thought I’d chime in. USC is my absolute dream school (hence the username) and my top choice by far. I was rejected from UCLA but I think my chances at USC are a lot higher. USC and UMich are my top 2 and I still have to hear back from both. Best of luck to you all!!!

Since the mailing starts tomorrow I may start singing the “Please Mr. Postman” song to my mailman from the 26th and on. lol :stuck_out_tongue:

Wait a minute Mr. Postman…look and see, is there a letter in your bag for me? It has been sooo long since I heard from this college of mine. I been standing here waiting Mr. Postman so patiently…please check and see, just one more time for me! lol

P.S. Sorry for those who don’t know or have heard of the song. lol :)

lol I don’t know how the song goes but I read/sang it as ‘Please mister jailer’ from the movie Cry Baby

I was just reading the USC Admission Facebook Page and it said that “…admission packets to be mailed out on Tuesday, March 26.” I think most people who live in the LA area and surrounding areas should receive their USC mail decision on Wednesday. I live on the Westside (pacific palisades area) and most mail from downtown gets to me within one day.

I read it over too…

So it seems that only the admission packets(acceptances) are being mailed out and then it said All Admission decisions will be available online, so then rejection comes on the 29th.

@ilovemyego wow, so if you don’t get something in the mail, then it’s not a good sign.

I’m pretty sure they send out rejection letters in the mail too. In a picture on Facebook that USC Admission uploaded, it showed two types of envelopes. Also someone in another thread said they send out acceptances and rejection. Btw, I just logged into USConnect and am encountering this message when I click on different options, “The system is experiencing a technical issue, this function is temporarily unavailable. Please try again or contact us.”. Anyone else getting this message?

@ilovemyego I just went back to the facebook page and if you go to the top and look at the timeline picture. It states that for first-year applicants “all admission decisions will be sent by postal mail on March 26. Decisions will be available online via USConnect beginning March 29 at noon PT.”

@midtriplet I got the same message when I tried clicking on the “Required Info and Forms” box under financial aid. Also, the title of that box changed to “Financial Aid Forms 2013-14” for a few minutes then changed back to the original title… that’s what happened with mine anyway.

Lol I saw that too…why are they changing the names lol

But nothing like it want available…except for mid grades…those aren’t available

Acceptance letter will be a large 8x10 yellow envelope… a rejection letter will be a number 10 regular size envelope…

I had that change too does that mean anything??

Is there any chance of applicants living nearby getting their decision tomorrow? I’m in the LA area but I’m expecting it to come Wednesday

Our guidance counselor just confirmed that USC told him today that “ALL letters will be mailed March 26, with the online portal being updated 3 days later.” This is the first time they have put decisions online ever.

Since USC is sending the mail out at 12:30 tomorrow, shouldn’t the LA and Southern California people get their package/letter on the same day they were sent out?

Please don’t let that be true Curious because I’ll want to throw up all day and I still have school.

I don’t think they are sending it out at 12 30 on tomorrow. I know its on the portal 12 30 pm on Friday. And no…they won’t get it the same day…all mail is sent out of the post office by 10am
