Today’s the day…

Has anyone received their Trustee’s/Presidential scholarship letter yet?

@lulumama: I haven’t gotten mine but I know a lot of people who have gotten theirs! Everyone should get a letter by the end of the week, as they were mailed Friday.

Soo yesterday I had the Document Status 2013-2014 Box but I checked today and now it isn’t there "/ … Not really worried because I just noticed that I didn’t upload the 2012 fax files, so I am assuming that could be why.

So does everyone have the box “Document Status for 2013-2014?”

@uscplease - I have that box but no error message when clicking on the ‘Financial Aid Status Check Page’ like the others.

@Missxsilverwing, thanks! I just found a USC thread titled “Scholarship Letters Are Out!” which is a sort of results thread for scholarships. I’m using it to track where and when letters are being received.

from what i understand, the presidential (half-tuition) is guaranteed if you’re a national merit finalist and USC’s your top choice school, provided you get in. if you weren’t invited to interview for it earlier, though, is getting the trustee’s (full-tuition) out of question? in other words, is interviewing on campus for that first round of scholarships the only way to be considered for trustee’s?

Yes. The Trustee Scholarships have been decided for this year. However, the NMScholarship, upon admittance, does include a $1000 scholarship given each year in addition to the NMS. Some students also receive department grants as well. We have had scholars post in the past from Viterbi and Marshall about receiving additional funding.

If you are admitted, enroll at SC and shine in the classroom during your freshmen year there are lists of continuing student scholarships which are available through a particular school. Many of these are memorial scholarships, but they are competitive. Some include a combination of merit and need. I will try to post the list later this week after

Each year I post and encourage students to apply for local scholarships. These are usually much less competitive and help meet the costs of a private university education. There are lists of these on the internet.

i dont really think the financial aid thing means nothing because financial aid decisions are not coming out until april, atleast thats what they told me when i called.

does anyone know a way to jump the system? maybe scholarship finalists who have the button that says admissions deposit?

Just got another email from financial aid asking for my parent’s corp. tax returns? Can I take this as a positive sign? Would financial aid still be asking for stuff “today” if I’m getting rejected?

Okay what about we stop thinking about how to hijack the system and be patient lol.

I suggest who ever gets their letter, please post for us when you get it and where you are from so we know the flow of the mail=)

I expect us Californians to hear something tomorrow.

i think some los angeleans are going to get mail today

I doubt people in Los Angeles will get it today.

The letters would have to go through some kind of process in USPS or something and I believe it will take at least a day. So people might start getting something tomorrow. Good luck everyone! :D

I agree with Curious.

I am so freaking nervous about tomorrow. USC is my dream school, specifically the school of cinematic arts. If I do get in into USC and not the School of Cinematic Arts I think I will just go to Emerson.

Sea^

One of the things I love about USC is the ability to still take classes in film and stuff and get intern ships with the film industry.

I know barely anything about film, but that’s one of the things I am excited about, trying new things directing and script writing.

It doesn’t show up for me, but for the people that said they have a new financial aid box does it still show up?

I live in the LA area. The mail-carrier just came and as I looked through the mail, received nothing from USC. Hopefully, something will come tomorrow. Looks like all LA people should receive a letter tomorrow (Wednesday).
