hi everyone! chicago here. i got my package today and got into the engineering school. gonna fly out in march to be interviewed for the presidential scholarship! Lol i was so surprised bc i wasnt expecting to get a decision until april. good surprise though my stats and extracurriculars are on my page if youd like to check that out for future references.
also, @aaronesmailian im not quite sure that @spicykins is right. it said very explicitly at the bottom of my acceptance letter that i was being considered for the presidential merit scholarship and there was a third booklet discussing it as well.
Hey, everyone! Iām from SoCal, and I have yet to receive anything. Since people from out of state have already been receiving their acceptance packages, does that mean I did not receive an acceptance considering I live so close but have not gotten anything?
@volleyball109 I think they only mailed out acceptance packages for people who were being considered as finalists for their merit scholarships. If you didnāt receive a package today, I think you will hear back sometime in April.
@frenchtoastlover, so I probably did not receive the Merit Scholarship Finalist status, right? I applied before December 01, but knowing how selective this process is, Iām just wondering if I still have a shot or probably not!
@frenchtoastlover USC has repetitively mentioned that EVERYONE who applied by the Dec 1 deadline will receive an update on their application at the beginning of Feb/end of Jan, regardless of whether they are finalists for scholarships or not.
@volleyball109 Woops, my bad about that. If you didnāt receive a package, I think they will update the portal at you.usc.edu. As far as I have heard, they didnāt update it yet, but Iād keep checking.
@aaronesmailian - it means Deanās and if you go back and read a few pages of this forum you will see that posted about 15 times. Many of us have been through this for several years, and that hasnāt changed for at least the last 5 years that I know of. Of course they could do something fancy and change things up, but they havenāt for quite awhile. Congrats on acceptance and the Deanās! You will get more info on that in a few days and your portal will likely update in next 24-48 hours.
@Abwee67 Nope. Iām not sure whether these applicants who received scholarships got their e-mails or some kind of package to their home. Iām currently at another country for a week with my family so iām not able to check my mailbox.
@aaronesmailian Some people were talking about it in previous comments in this thread. @musicpen Aaron said that he didnāt receive a letter stating which scholarship he was being considered for, thus implying that he is being considered for the Deanās scholarship. It is only explicitly stated (I believe) for Trusteeās or Presidential
Students, instead of just posting a question, how about being a good student and spending 15 minutes looking back a few pages on this thread and see whatās been happening in the last few days. All the answers have been written several times for the same questions over and over and over againā¦
