Which tab are you looking under? If under the “Required Documents” tab, that means you need to send them in. If under the “Received Documents” tab, USC has them.
It looks like the message that you get when you click on the little info button is just a description of that particular document.
@marble7 I briefly read through your stats on a previous forum-- international applicants aren’t eligible for USC financial aid, so that might be why you didn’t receive the email.
I just recently looked over this thread, and I have to say, everyone on here seems so nice, smart, and cool! I wish we could all get Trustee’s and like meet each other over lunch and then go to USC together! lol
Too bad that won’t be possible. I also applied before December 1, but I don’t think I have the recs necessary for the top scholarships. But I’m still hoping, and I wish everyone a lot of luck. Only one week left until we find out!
I’m increasingly regretting putting so much hope into USC. I’ve been accepted to all my state schools, but there’s not really any “wow” factor. But then again, I’ve never even been off the east coast, and just because I’ve read nice things about USC doesn’t mean I’d actually like it if I got in.
It’s the same for me. It feels like each day we get closer to finding out about scholarship stuff I lose more and more hope. Hopefully the effort I’ve put into my life over the past few years will pay off and I will be pleasantly surprised…
@Ineedcollege24 I don’t think so. I applied for engineering and didn’t receive the Viterbi magazine that apparently a lot of applicants received.
@pterosprite and @sdwyer98 I feel exactly the same way. Ugh. I applied to five state schools and two private (USC and Rice); this is the only school I haven’t heard back from, but it happens to be my top pick. The combination of waiting for this decision and already being accepted to a bunch of colleges is making me way less productive in school. However, in my school, seniors finish all their classes by the first week in April, so I’ve got less than four months to go.
@pterosprite That’s really cool of you to want to venture from the East Coast to the West Coast. I wanted to apply to Boston University, but I thought that I would get really homesick and I can’t stand the cold. I live in the Southwest, so I think I’d feel comfortable going to school at ASU or USC (if I got in). It’s definitely drier and not as green around here, but we have amazing sunsets and lots of culture.
@wondervigilante honestly that’s probably a good choice; I’m really skinny and have back problems and mood issues, and if you’re anything like that, the cold will have the power to make you completely miserable and exhausted. I love the east coast, but I’d imagine that the atmosphere of constant pressure, busy life, and competition (and I don’t even live in New England) would be really hard to adapt to coming from the South West.
I feel like I barely see any Annenberg scholarship recipients from previous years… does anyone have any idea how many that school gives out/anything you think makes a potential Annenberg scholar standout?
@Ineedcollege24 god I wish I knew… And I’m sure there are plenty of them, but I think it’s the tendency of this website to draw “overachievers;” future engineers and doctors and corporate types, not people who are interested in communications/arts and so forth. Try going on the bio sections of the Annenberg Ambassadors site, read about those who are Annenberg scholars, if that gives slight clues??
@Dinka7 I believe so, since some schools will not have the mid year grades in time for the decision release (assuming this is for the merit decision release). That being said, it is highly encouraged to send the mid year report ASAP, as well as to fill out the mid year grades section on the USC portal, given you know the grades.
If you are just waiting for the March-April release date, you should have the mid-year report sent (and the mid year grades filled out online).
