*******USC Class of 2020 Results/Discussion Thread**********

I was wondering if anyone could answer my question! I applied before Dec 1st, but I have not filed the CSS or FAFSA for USC, will they still tell me if I got a scholarship (fingers crossed) without it? Thank you!

@tigercreek The Dec. 1st deadline was for merit based scholarships. The FAFSA and CSS are for need based.
Yes, you will still be considered if all of the application materials were turned in on time.

Okay so I submitted my fall grades online last week and when I went back to check, I saw that I accidentally marked one of my regular classes as AP/IB (I feel so dumb, how did I not catch that ugh). I’m still mailing the hard copy and when I typed the class name in, I didn’t indicate it as AP or IB. Should I still worry about the incorrect marking or email admissions, or does it not matter? All the grades are correct, it is just the AP/IB check mark for one class.

@ Shaneli1020 This is not your fault. Same thing happened to me. My French 3 automatically got tagged as AP even though i never checked on the AP button.

Hey guys! Good luck to everyone. I have a quick question: I submitted my app on December 1st, but my YouSC portal doesn’t mention anything about the Merit Scholarship. It just says, “We will be reviewing applications through the month of March, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify freshmen by April 1st.” Is this normal?

@vkrishnan4 Thanks! That’s reassuring.

@bvbbletea Same thing with me. I’m pretty sure that’s just the general message and the merit scholarship will still be sent out if you applied by the deadline.

@bvbbletea Total normal. Be careful over-watching the YouSC portal next few days, it will make you crazy. Good luck!

hey guys, i got a full-tuition scholarship to usc last year, but am considering transferring out this year. a lot of people have been asking me about why that is, and I think there’s a lot of information about college in general and usc specifically that I wish I had known or looked into before I came - I’d love to pass on some tips to ya’ll as you start this process, so feel free to message me, or send an email at
charlesdavis1322@ gmail.com (remove space)

Why are you thinking about transferring out? What is it abouy USC or LA that you dont like?

Don’t feed CharlesDavis. He is reposting this screed from another thread, with no substantial info to back his complaints.

Ya, confused by the request to contact him/her versus just posting information/complaints which just adds to the idea of no substance. One would hope a full tuition recipient would have better writing skills.

That’s unfortunate someone would waste their time with that. Glad it’s not real though. Hard to believe someone would hate USC!!

Did anyone get scholarship notification

I just saw on USC Admission’s Twitter that all who applied before Dec. 1 will be notified of their scholarship status by early February

They say “by early Feb” every year, and in recent years the decisions started rolling out late Jan. Of course, this year it could be different, but it is something they say every year.

There are plenty of people that transfer out of USC every year for various reasons that may include not liking USC, but this poster just won’t provide detail. The issues/problems at USC is a fine conversation/thread to have (personally I dislike how big and impersonal with accompanying bad customer service USC has become in recent years), but you shouldn’t have to email someone to get their perspective, that is what this public forum is for.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see packets going out tomorrow or Friday - but only a guess people. They tend to go out at end of week. So this week or next, hope it is this week, I know the waiting is brutal. Good luck all!

If the schedule is like last year, they should be mailed out Friday.

anyone know when that comes out?

and how many are considered?
