Everyone who applied before Dec 1st is considered, so that is thousands of people. Only a few hundred are offered an interview, though.
do dean scholars also find out about acceptance in late January? also, does anyone have a link to any page that shows the data of previous Annenberg students who received scholarships?
In recent years, Dean’s Scholarships have been given out late January, but the people only received a letter of acceptance (The Dean’s Scholarship notification comes later).
I do believe Dean’s recipients still receive their scholarships at the same time as those receiving Trustee, Presidential, etc.
not sure about the scholarship breakdown for Annenberg. I’d be interested to know though. I wonder how many Dornsife applicants receive scholarships
I know that USC views each application hollistically; however, does any have a guess on what they think the minimum ACT score and GPA an individual should probably have in order to be considered for a Dean’s scholarship?
There is no “minimum,” so it is hard to say. I would say the bulk of the merit scholarships go to students with fairly high scores, but of course there are going to be outliers every year. No reason to stress out about it, since 1) there’s nothing you can do now, so the extra stress will do you no good, and 2) even if you have a lower score or GPA, you can still be offered the scholarship.
@wondervigilante hahaha thanks I wish you the best of luck too!
@pterosprite Actually I believe I’m eligible because I am an American citizen, so yeah. Students (american citizens) from our school have previously received scholarships too.
@pterosprite a little off topic, but can you find a tofu chick-fil-a at chick-fil-a or do you have to buy it somewhere else?
@Ineedcollege24 on the usc scholarship website, it says the awards are given out to students who have “average SAT and ACT scores in the top 1 to 2 percent of all students nationwide” so that would make it like at least 2160 for SAT and 32 ACT
@vistajay @blueskies2day @Abwee67 None of what I"m posting is fake. I"m not sure why everybody thinks I’m some USC hater trying to same blasphemous things about the school - and I"m not sure what “substantial” evidence you’d want. I’m not as comfortable publicly sharing every possible detail. Do you want a copy or image of my scholarship letter? I don’t use my actual identity on here because I don’t feel comfortable with that. Sorry if that’s an issue. I’d be happy to do anything reasonable to prove my “legitimacy” since that seems to be the issue here. Maybe I’ll post all my thoughts, but first I’d like to clear up the legitimacy issue here…
i can provide my tuition bill if needed…
@CharlesDavis There is no reason to prove your identity or reasoning. We appreciate you trying to give feedback on your time at USC. Sorry it did not work out the way you wanted.
Does anyone know if they will notify you for scholarship through email or is it just through mail?
@Edenn0elle Snail mail. They update portal a few days to a week after mail goes out. I think they send emails too, but I am not positive
thanks!
@CharlesDavis just wondering, but what specifically do you not like about USC?
For goodness sake,@charlesdavis, then post some thoughts. No need to prove yourself, just say something besides I am leaving a full scholarship. Without you stating any actual issues it seems like sensationalism. Why do you want to leave? What are the problems you encounter? Size of school, students, faculty, getting classes, the weather, the neighborhood, what is it? CC isn’t supposed to be fairy land where only nice things are said about a school, it is good to hear all sides. You just aren’t saying anything. Put it out there, lots of people would like to hear what didn’t go well for you.
@chucknblair it’s actually a homemade recipe! http://40aprons.com/chick-fil-tofu-nuggets-vegan-honey-mustard-sauce/ if you wanna make it, I recommend substituting regular oil for peanut oil, and pressing, freezing and thawing the tofu before hand’
hey guys: I’m applying RD and sent in my supplement on the 15th; how long did it take for you guys to receive a confirmation email that you applied?
