@cpmom60 Maybe… but not last year or before… and not even two months ago. So we shall see…
@imanervous Considering that 30% of California’s 18-19 year olds are white, that number doesn’t seem so out of whack.
@imanervous No, it’s not alarming. If you look at demographics for USC 30 something % of student body is white. So it makes sense 69% of acceptances went to minorities.
Last year’s breakdown (of the 3358 who enrolled)…
Race/Ethnicity:
White 38%
Asian / Asian American 21%
Latino / Hispanic 15%
International (student visa holders) 14%
Multiple Ethnicities 7%
Black / African American 5%
Native American or Pacific Islander <1%
Are this year’s #s significantly different?
Keep in mind though that they do not breakdown ethnicity within the internationals.
does anyone here know if biracial half chinese half white counts as multiple ethnicities? or am i treated as full white or full asian?
If the rejections are able to be tracked, does no incoming mail indicate a possible acceptance?
@Bella2018 let’s hope so
Can’t wait until someone has package in hand!
@Bella2018 incoming mail is only shown for that day. If a rejection is coming you won’t see it until that morning
@awkwardambition I just called DHL and gave them my name. They saw the incoming package and gave me the tracking number. I asked them the size and the weight. They told me that it’ 0,7 kg. I still need to wait for Sunday to learn if i got in or not You can just call DHL service at your country and tell them that you are waiting for a package from California, they’ll directly tell you the tracking code.
^^^ yes, last year was almost two hours sooner… of course I believe they were home sick.
Maybe the rare SoCal rain is slowing down mail men/women lol
@imanervous i mean i guess that makes sense though if the other 31% is white
@imanervous that number is correct and trending upward for USC as they build a more diverse student population.
If you look at the last two years blog posts from USC admissions the class of 2020 non-white admits hit 65% and last year class of 2021 non-white admits increased to 67%.
@WWWard It’s only 9:24am here, the first to report was at 10:02am PST by a student home sick. Mail delivery doesn’t generally start before 10 here.
uhhh…DHL would not tell me if I have a package incoming!
On informed deliver I got nothing, doesn’t event say I got something in the mail with no picture
@cadreamin Last year’s thread… as I see it… shows the first package at 03-24-2017 at 10:37 am EST. For example… you just posted at 12:25 pm EST. CC has always shown post times to me as Eastern. But if you recall it being later, that makes more sense. Never trust the Internet lol
@ZEYNEPP if it’s that heavy it sounds like an admissions package! I’m nervous to call though- what country do you live in? I live in Germany, and I wanna know the decision but I’m so anxious to find out XD
@ChenXiaoYun Thanks for jumping back in at this crazy time and offering help! What did you mean “first choice studio”?
@ZEYNEPP When are you expecting the package to reach you? And just out of curiosity you are from which part of the world?
