@“God Help Us” Congrats! First to post. Let us know his eventual reaction.
Thanks. San Gabriel Valley.
Congratulations on the wonderful news!
IF YOU ARE POSTING YOU RECEIVED A PACKAGE, PLEASE ADD WHAT AREA YOU ARE POSTING FROM.
Most will be Socal today so add if it is Irvine, San Diego, Long Beach, etc…it helps others with the madness! If someone from out of state happens to get it day 1, please put your city and town as well. Thanks everyone and GOOD LUCK to all!
I hope that at least my rejection letter is pretty looking
Good news
And so it begins… Brings back memories from 2014 and 2017. Of course the USPS delay of two-days last year is something we would like to forget. Good luck to all…
So exciting @“God Help Us” us - does he know packages are coming or will it be a surprise when he gets home?
My informed delivery account indicates 0 mail is expected?! Why is that so? Not even hand piece mail?
He has no idea. I’ve been watching this board.
Also, would love to know if you saw the box on your Informed Delivery Dashboard. Please post if possible.
My son was accepted back in 2016 and didn’t receive a white box (EVER). No one knows what happened to it. We assumed he didn’t get in, but the portal said Congratulations. So don’t give up until you see the portal update.
No. Don’t have anything like that set up. Just waited for the postman to deliver.
@hamparyanmomager Wow… even worse than our experience. I echo your sentiments. USPS is far from perfect. You’ve all waiting this long… so wait until that portal makes it official.
That is so great you have a chance to make it a moment!!! If you can keep yourself from telling him (he may hear from kids at school they are coming so have to think of what to say if he asks) you can see his reaction when he gets home.
It’s priceless!!!
Will SoCal Be notified if rejected today too? Or is it just acceptances?
@hamparyanmomager Ever? Really? They didn’t get another one sent out? That is terrible! I still have all four of ours in their keepsake boxes, but I am a bit of a hoarder with that kind of thing.
@God helps us, congrats to your son. It’s been really a long wait for everyone of us.
@CADREAMIN I even called the admissions office because my son wanted the box, but they just said sorry. We were just happy he got accepted, so dropped it. Hoping for our 1st “mailbox moment” here tomorrow.
Last year rejection letters did start arriving the first day in Socal, however…my guess is they aren’t so dumb over in USC admissions…and while they can prevent the acceptance packages from being tracked, the letters could get scanned, so they likely won’t send them as early as they did last year. They use to send the denial letters a few days after the packages, so maybe they go back to that or don’t send them at all with portal updates now.
We will have to see how that plays out. Remember USPS informed delivery just started in April 2017, so it is a new factor…but still…packages will not show up there, they are not scanned and the sender can disable that feature.
