USC Class of 2022

I just hope I’m not one of those people who gets rejected because my first semester grades were bad… There’s no hope for me…

Did anyone apply for American Studies and Ethnicities at USC? Does anyone know that since it is such a small major, there is a greater chance of admission?

Does anyone know how competitive the chemistry and chemical engineering majors are?

Does anyone know if the Business of Cinematic Arts major is generally an impacted major at USC?

@curlyQSF What is an “impacted” major? Is it a California thing?

Yeah what does “impacted major” mean?

USC doesn’t have impacted majors. That’s a public school (UCs) term where you can’t even apply to a major because it is so full. There are majors who have lower acceptance rates or are harder to get in like engineering etc., but they are not what are referred to as impacted.

Impacted means that the number of qualified people who apply for that major is far greater than the number of available spaces for that major

How much harder is it to get into Marshall than Dornsife?

lol I think we are all kinda freaking out right now

Does anyone else have a “Required Info and Forms” page when they press “Apply for Financial Aid” in their USC portal?

Does anyone know the difficulty of getting into USC’s Price School? Is it easier to get into than Dornslife?

I have the required info and forms yeah

I am really hoping I get accepted to Viterbi! When I went to tour USC I instantly fell in love. I recently have been rejected from UCLA, so I don’t think my chances are high and probably won’t get in. :frowning:

@torr10 i have that too… does that mean anything?

I have it too, I hope they’re giving away signs that they’re gonna accept us…

I have it as well, it probably means nothing.

@torr10 I believe that is just the page to apply for financial aid. I’ve had it since the start and used it to submit documents for financial aid, but I highly doubt it correlates to admission. Pretty sure USC just wants the financial information of all applicants so that they can have the financial aid awards ready to go for those who they have admitted.

You can look and look, and things will move around or change, but none of them are any indication of acceptance. After doing this for decades, they are pretty good at this and would never give a hint. But there will be many theories between now and the 22nd that are always entertaining. At the time the portals update, those are the changes that mean something. But I totally get anything to pass the time is good. Hang in there everyone, I really wish they would surprise everyone with early results, but they haven’t ever done that either. Darn.

Ok, I’ll reword my question. Is the Business of Cinematic Arts a difficult major to get into at USC?
