USC class of 2023 Applicants Thread

Any NorCal Sacramento-ish?

Did the Thornton letters get sent out at the same time?

I didn’t apply for any merit scholarships, do you think that will effect my admissions decision?

someone said they got in this morning from the Bay Area!!

@niconiconii I am crossing my fingers for you. At this time, I can’t share her art account yet esp since it’s not my account. It’s her decision to share and I also don’t want to give out too much info for privacy issues. She’s still waiting for 2 more decision in the next week.

Frankly, they are being wacky with scholarship results this year. The pattern over the last 8 years is notification almost a week before regular results, then most recently they were a day or two before regular admission results were mailed. So they are late!

They are first seen via an update to your portal with a pdf in there giving your results. Last year there was a flurry of posts about portals updated with results.

We have also heard of no Deans in the acceptance packages so far and that is different than before as well.

So they are mixin’ it up.

The date given by our insider was March 22, but that has gone bye bye. Then Friday or Monday was put out there by someone in admissions. So all we can do is think about it being Monday and hope it is sooner. Can’t imagine it being later, but heck it’s already late! Even if they mail something it is always updated to portal, so that is what to watch for (ha like everyone isn’t doing that already). They are in charge!

someone in my area already received their package, but I haven’t gotten mine yet. Does that mean I’m rejected?

Any packages in the South Florida/Miami area?

Any SD?

Mail came for Nj, got nothing, most likely rejected. Anyone else from Nj?

I didn’t get anything either. One person a couple pages back from NJ said they got the package, but there were several other people from NJ on this thread who didn’t receive anything either.

By USPS’s own admission, they miss delivery window targets about 5% of the time. In the case of 7000+ mail-outs, that would equate to 350+ delayed deliveries. So
I would simply wait another 5 hours and 37 mins and see for sure online. And my family went through this scenario exactly
with our 2-day delivery taking 4. So
 it happens. Good Luck

anyone in Santa Barbara?

Well statistically speaking, about 60,000 aren’t getting package, that is a crazy big number.

Thank goodness for the portal update later today to end the mystery and agony of waiting.

It’s only 11:30 in CA, so plenty of people still waiting for the mail delivery here. Looking for Norcal and places like Santa Barbara in socal that didn’t get them yesterday.

I did — Journalism.

Can you say what it means if you were admitted “Undecided” despite having provided a first and second choice major?

No agony and no box here in NY. At my house, it is not known as USC, but “USC-where-he-won’t-be-accepted.” Lol!

At least he had fun filling out their application! Think he will eat his favorite snack while he mulls his other choices.

Received the packet! Louisville, KY! SO HAPPY!!! D is a nmf !!!

@Momofseveral10 It means that while USC overall admitted the applicant, the school or schools housing the first and/or second choice majors did not also do so. My younger daughter was admitted as such in 2017. SCA had housed both of her major choices. She enrolled as Undeclared though and internally transferred into SCA within two months of starting at USC. So it is not necessarily a permanent no via the schools. Internally transferring between majors is very common at USC.
