USC class of 2023 Applicants Thread

@CADREAMIN does only legacy get an invite to TTP?

Does anyone know about 1/4 tuition scholarships? Are they not doing them this year or will they be announced on the portal/at a later date?

@123california No. But those are the most common for TTP.

@Lindagaf Always the realist - gotta love it! An honor to have you in our neighborhood over here. I didn’t realize you are in it again. I haven’t seen you discussing this one, but I just cruise certain forums/threads. I will have to stalk your posts and see what’s up! Good luck again this year!

post edit - hope he enjoys his favorite snack, while he reflects on the three words that describe him.

@sirpumpington. Can you give location and stats??

For anyone wondering about Thornton, Informed Delivery, and tracking, here’s our experience. Early this AM, on the advice of others, we checked usps site, and saw that a package was tracking to us from USC. Last known location was in LA at 830pm last night.

So we figured a) seems like my D is in b) we ain’t getting that package today.

Assumed we’d end up finding out via portal at 8 either way.

Well just got home here in CT and sure enough, white box on front step.

So the tracking was both right (about it being shipped), and wrong (about where it was).

Hope that’s helpful.

Thank you. More questions: 1. Is TTP different than spring admission? 2. If you are accepted in TTP, then you will have a spot in USC year 2?

How do I check informed delivery? It wouldn’t let me verify my identity on the usps website

It’s pretty hard to accept an offer of admission if no particular school has committed to accepting. So excited to get the white box, so strange to find out that no department actually wanted my child.

@CADREAMIN , if I recall, his three words were something along the lines of “realistic, matter-of-fact, and down-to-earth.” Yep, that’s him.

@"“2605 Mandy Way” I suggest reviewing this thread for all answers

We are in rural area (30 miles from Boston). USPS informed delivery show on scanned piece of mail. Got the package at 1PM. .

Anything from Vegas? I’d expect something by now since we are so close to California but I haven’t heard of anyone getting anything.

Any box sightings near Atlanta?

bakersfield, ca or central valley

got a yellow box

@lindagaf I had four go through this and those questions were a hoot.Trying to edit here, ahh the 15 clock drives me crazy - too stressful!

@lindagaf lol. I’ve been planning to make son his #favorite snack to soften the 5pm blow (mom’s fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies. With milk. lots.) We’ve been calling USC son’s ‘hail Mary pass’. Have to find humor in the process. My son had fun with this app too.

@Momofseveral10 Well
it does not necessarily mean that. It comes down to spaces available in those programs for the next term. But
it is statistically much easier to internally transfer into a School as a current USC student then it is to gain access to USC’s most competitive schools as a freshman applicant. The system leans in your favor once you are a student and especially if you are doing well there. It does though take a bit of self-confidence to enter an university without the promise of a major upfront. I get that. In our case, my daughter was confident enough in herself though to pass on Princeton because she wanted SCA
even though she was only promised USC and not also SCA as of March 2017. But, by Oct 2017, she had what she wanted and was in at SCA too.

Good luck with your decision

did anyone from vegas get a package yet?

We’re in Southern California (suburb 2 hr from LA and 1 hr from San Diego) and D’s friend got her acceptance package yesterday but DD hasn’t gotten anything either way so far:-(
