International, 1520 SAT 3.8/4.0circa GPA. The competition is really high!
I got a white box today and I have that same message on my portal with no decision. I think the message has gone out to every applicant and I wouldnāt read into it too far! Best of luck to everyone who has yet to hear and congratulations to everyone who has heard good news!
Anyone know if Maryland/DC area was supposed to receive the package today?
Maybe rejections are updated firstā¦

Status Update

There is an update to your admission status.

Dear ā¦
We have arrived at the end of our application review period, and I am sorry to say that we are unable to offer you a space in this yearās incoming class.
Please understand that our decision is in no way a statement about your ability to succeed in college, nor any kind of judgment of you as a person. Be proud of your accomplishments, and press on in your pursuit of higher education.
This year, admission to USC was more competitive than ever before. We could not accommodate an unprecedented number of outstanding candidates, including many students with pristine academic records, remarkable talent, strong character, enriching experiences and unique perspectives. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that none of us enjoys turning away exceptional students.
Numbers do not tell the whole story, but I hope you find the context helpful: We received about 66,000 applications for admission. To enroll a class of 3,000 first-year students, we offered admission to only 11 percent of those who applied, or roughly 7,000 students. Of those offered admission, most achieved nearly straight-A averages and presented standardized test scores at or above the 98th percentile.
Beyond grades and test scores, we considered many other factors presented in your application materials. Ours is a qualitative process, in which opinions are weighed with facts. Your application was carefully, respectfully and thoughtfully reviewed multiple times, by many individuals.
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions for more details about our review process, and for options to consider if you wish to attend USC in the future.
Thank you for considering USC. We all wish you all the best in your college plans.
Respectfully,
Kirk Brennan
Associate Dean
Director of Undergraduate Admission
@mystery2019 Yes, there is a status update on my portal.
I also got the message posted on my portal but I do not think it is a rejection letter. I think it was just posted to address the current issues going around with USC (revolving unfairness in admissions)
People are quick to jump to rejection because they have not received a white box. Have faith! Youāre ruling out the possibility of having been waitlisted, and besides, this is USPS weāre talking about hereā¦
This person must be lying, i donāt understand why people get enjoyment out of playing with our feelings but they do for some reason. Decisions are not out nor will they be for 2 more hours
@sunshine2019 I have the same message
wait so those who have updates are they only rejections? does this mean those waiting for updates could be admits or waitlisted?
So if I didnāt receive the white box today, it it safe to assume that I have been rejected? I have been losing confidence, as my college decisions havenāt been in my favorā¦
i have the message on my portal and i was accepted if that helps!
@justanotherstudent2023 there are multiple people on reddit who have posted their rejection letters as well.
the Rejections are real, someone posted a photo on Reddit. I donāt have an update yet so Iām hoping for the best
No decisions are not out that person is lying, every thread has one or two people at least that claim decisions are out when in fact they are not
Maybe itās rolling out, with everything posted by 5pm???
I doubt anyoneās portal is actually updated yet. ._.
Also, if you check USPS for time it takes for priority mail to get different places, there are certain pockets of the US that take 3 days rather than just 2. For example, it might take only two days to get to Chicago, but three to get to Oregon. Doesnāt make much sense, but there is hope!
Someone said that you canāt be waitlisted to USC btw, only accepted or rejected
Oh god wait really oh god Iām so scared
