USC class of 2023 Applicants Thread

Font was still small when I went to sleep, woke up and it was much larger – means nothing

We only need someone who received a packet to have a smaller font, and another with a bigger font to bust the myth. With more packages arriving today it should be clearer…

Agreed – my font was small when I went to sleep and much larger when I woke up. I’m really hoping to get a scholarship; I have the stats, so I’m hoping they liked my ECs and essays!

I’m a stressed out mom hoping her DS gets in to his dream school - and you all are making me laugh today! I really appreciate that!!!

anyone applied to Annenberg?

also my font stayed the same (yep, still tiny. Just like my chances of getting a scholarship) which is lowkey giving me anxiety :smiley:

I check my USPS account, no scheduled delivery today from USC, I am at Midwest, any chance?

Hey yall! I’m Luis and I’m from Texas. I applied to USC and I have 27 ACT and I applied RD. Will I still get a little financial aid/ scholarships if I didn’t apply before the scholarship deadline?

.

@SCMHAALUM you’re welcome

@CADREAMIN loved post 609 lol

@basicluis No one can predict whether you’ll receive a scholarship or financial aid from USC. However, it is still very possible for students to receive money for this coming year. This first group that everyone’s talking about was only for full and half tuition finalists. But, if you didn’t meet the Dec 1 deadline, you’re probably out of luck for most USC scholarships. Good news is that there will still be literally millions and millions of dollars in need-based aid awarded this year to incoming students. Of course you have to apply for it and if you’ve not already done so, you’d better get on it! https://financialaid.usc.edu/undergraduates/prospective/dates-and-deadlines.html#/1

I am almost done I just need my parents to fill out some more info on my College Board financial aid app! I don’t really apply for much need-based but do you think they will adjust it for COL since its a lot higher in LA than my small Texas town?

yes, the financial aid office takes into account where your family lives, age of parents, how many children, etc.

Love your USC Merit Notification Planning Meeting post @CADREAMIN. So funny. Thanks to you and @WWWard for all your info. I only wish I had followed some of the links earlier. Fingers crossed to get something on the East Coast today or tomorrow.

@basicluis I ain’t no AO from USC, but I would think you’d be fine for FA and/or some other scholarship. As I understand it, the Dec 1st deadline is specifically for Merit Aid, which is different. So, you might not be eligible for Merit Aid, but there should be other things out there for you.

I applied before Dec 1st, will I be considered for admission on February 1st, even if I dont get the scholarship?

The only students who have been admitted at this point are those who are trustee or presidential finalists. No one else will be notified of admission or denial until late March. Even if you weren’t identified as a trustee or presidential finalist, you’re still very much in the running for admission. But remember that they’re going to be admitting something like 1,200 - 1,400 fewer freshmen this year, so it’s going to be more competitive than ever before. Good luck!

@BigDawgDoodImABigDawg If you don’t receive a scholarship in January, you’ll be waiting until March for a decision.

@rose135 you’re welcome

ANY PREDICTIONS FOR PORTAL UPDATE YET

The merits scholarship is nominated by each school and there is a quota, someone got full scholarship last year told me.
