USC Class of 2027 — Regular & Early Action Decisions

When does the financial aid Application in Review status change? Mine has been in progress forever.

Trying to read the tea leaves just adds to the stress without any real certainty. Hope you all can relax and try to distract yourselves until we get the notification. We will all know today where we stand.
Good luck everybody!

Where is the ‘Welcome to enrollment services division’ showing up for you?

Ok I see you responded to someone else, got it, thank you

I know this answer! Lol! My daughter is a junior (son applied EA for 23-24). Her FAST says review until government eligibility is completed, lots of things out of our control (academic progress updates). I didn’t see hers “completed” until right before classes started.

Thank you!! I have been checking back weekly to make sure that I wasn’t missing something. Then I thought that I filled it out incorrectly and that is why it wasn’t processing. I should have asked this question a long time ago! LOL!

Does anyone know what time they start releasing decisions? (I’m in EST, so I have no clue if they’re releasing at a certain time PST).

I remember seeing somewhere that decisions start coming out at 3pm PST so i guess 6pm on for us East coasters?

No problem! Do continue to check periodically, because they can add a request at any time. You’ll be looking for anything that is red and if it ever turns red, that means “ action required“. You will need to submit something.

Good luck to everyone waiting for potentially good news from USC today. To keep it all in perspective… no one is actually getting rejected today. 2400 or so will be happy after today, as they will be officially admitted. But 5500 more or so will gain admission in March. Both of my daughters fell into that March admitted category. And then the tides will turn and roughly 60% of those admitted to USC will ultimately enroll elsewhere.

If USC remains your dream school, and this process does not work out… there is also always the possibility of transferring into USC later. From a #s perspective, the odds of success in doing so are much higher than applying as a high school senior. Persistence certainly can pay off. The film director Bryan Singer famously had to apply three times to get into the USC School of Cinematic Arts. He was first turned down by both USC and SCA. He later transferred into USC but was again turned down by SCA. And then on the third effort, he got into SCA as an internal transfer. Steven Spielberg was turned down by both USC and SCA three times, and he clearly turned out fine. So, there are countless pathways to success that do not include USC. All of you can still find your own path to success elsewhere if USC does not offer you admission. If not… their loss anyhow.

As for hints via FAST, there are none until you are officially admitted. I’ve been on CC since 2013 and had two daughters who applied, were admitted and were FA applicants. I watched it closely. Also, ten plus years of FAST hint theories here on CC have all been debunked as best I can tell. USC knows what they are doing, and admissions and FA are completely separate until they inform you if you are admitted and then also inform FA. But if it helps you pass the time… by all means, keep looking.

The actual admission decisions are supposed to be rolling out all day. In the past, nothing really started happening until 3P Pacific, but hopefully they will begin earlier today. And USC will email you to let you know when your portal has been updated with a decision. So, there is no need to refresh your portal constantly. But… do as you will.

Again… Good luck. And Fight On! :v:

And if today yields a deferment for you, as I have stated before, there is nothing wrong with sending your assigned AO and the individual School’s admissions email address(es) one short and sweet email to reconfirm your interest in and commitment to USC (if true). You can use that email to update them on any changes or new accomplishments too. But I would only do so once. So, I would pick the right moment. Both of my daughters did so in mid-February as I recall. They did state that USC was their top choice, and each committed to attending if admitted. But it was completely true in their cases. Both were admitted, and both attended.

@KB10001 Call them about FA - today if you can before announcements. Might be a bit lighter. Get that one doc cleared up. Good luck and if not today, there’s another fun wait in March! Would be great if they could be together, I get that!!!

I submitted the form they’re asking for in November. That’s what’s strange about it. I know this particular form takes time, but it has me worried.

I can see it as submitted as well. So weird

Does USC still send out packages to arrive on the day of acceptance?

I think they could “clear it” on the phone and get you out of the perpetual loop. I worry it would stay in “incomplete limbo” (so much automated) that I would just bring it to their attention. That way you have them saying “we see it is here. “

Good luck all - it’s usually 3pm PST but I know we will all hope they go earlier. Try to live your life and keep busy - the moment it updates we will know here too - I always love the first to post person bringing on the excitement.

And I get the “hint theories”. - we have inquisitive minds and likely some good future hackers on here - so if you find anything good let us know.

The website/portal will show signs of change just before they launch, then it’s pretty obvious - like no one can get in kind of thing.
