Ok, I'm still only a sophomore (engineering), and to be honest, I'm still considering whether or not I even want to go to grad school. In the process however, I've been looking at some schools to see where I would have a chance and where I would want to go etc. etc.

So I've been looking at the UC schools and USC. I know USC has a really good engineering school, and I would really like to go there if I could eventually, but as I've been doing some research on the internet about USC's engineering graduate school program, surprisingly, I've been reading a lot of negatives from graduate students there.

So how good of a engineering school is USC at the graduate level, especially for the Masters degree? How hard is it to get in?

Also, I know USC publishes a sheet of statistics about the incoming freshman undergraduate class each year. Do they have anything similar for their graduate program?

According to US News, the average student entering an MS program in engineering at USC had a GPA of 3.4 and scored 478V 745Q on the GRE. USC's acceptance rate is 48.5%.

Location is an underrated criterion when comparing schools, especially for those seeking non-academic jobs. If there are lots of related companies in the area (I'm guessing there are), then it's a solid choice for grad school.
