USC For. Lang. Requirement - Transfer

So I will be entering as a junior this coming fall and I haven't taken any foreign language and would like to try to take care of it outside of usc, to give me more room for other classes. I was reading the transfer credit report sheet and it says that once you start taking classes at usc you can't fulfill GE or the writing requirement by taking classes outside of usc. does this include the for. lang. requirement, and is it true that you can only take classes for credit during the summer? Oh, and can the class be taken on a pass/fail basis?

Thanks!

I know some current students who are taking their last language course this summer at a university where they live, so it’s allowed, but you’d have to get it approved to receive credit. Not sure if you can take it pass/fail though I’m assuming yes, since you can at USC, but I would definitely double check.
