if they want your senior year grades, that means they probably liked your application but want to see more info. I would take this as a good sign

this is nothing to be worried about. I got accepted before my senior grades were sent in and they still asked for them after accepting me (just to make sure I didn’t fail first semester of something?? hahha). I wouldn’t worry about it if I were you.

thanks for the input, but some of my friends who have relatively high stats didn’t seem to get the request for senior grades and some with lower stats were asked for them. does this mean that those with higher stats are basically in?

Broncos - I can’t imagine they ask 30,000 applicants for their mid-year grades. There would be no reason for that, and it would be an extremely inefficient use of time. They have sent out 2-3 waves of offers and scholarships. I’m sure they also have a huge pile of declines. I’m sure those who got asked for midyear grades are contenders.

I’m a bit worried because I got the “we have completed an initial review of your application and would like to see your final grades” or osmething along those lines. I heard that if they ask fro your grades you’re borderline? I really hope that they don’t completely base the decision on my senior year grades…

Yumberry, your senior year grades would have helped you out a lot. I took a couple more AP’s than you have and had a 4.3 weighted and 3.6 unweighted GPA, but didn’t get in last year. I applied to Marshall as well. Granted I also got a C in calculus and an A in everything else my senior year, so it’ll be tough to get in, but there’s still hope.

You guys are making me paranoid! Now i’m starting to think because they HAVEN’T asked for mine that my app has already made it to the reject pile! Ahh the CC boards will be the death of me haha…

y’all need to read The Gatekeepers. It’ll scare you even more…but in some ways it will relax you. Why? Because it is a total crapshoot. Admissions depts make virtually no sense. They like or don’t like your package of grades, scores, ec’s etc based on whether they stayed up to late last night reading your app. If they hate coffee, and you wrote your essay about Starbuck’s you’re screwed. If they need North Dakotans, and you’re one…you’re in. Just let it ride…you will end up where you were meant to be, and you’ll have a great time. just know that it’s absolutely NOT about whether you deserved to get in. Admissions is not only not a science…it’s not even an art…it’s gambling.

i just got mine too. Does this mean i am borderline? the problem is i didnt do well this semester 5 B’s 2 C’s.(Full IB program) Should i try and send my first quarter grades which are better?
