so i have narrowed it down to usc or santa barbara but i cant decide.. any thoughts ?

ucsb is way cheaper and has a better surrounding area…
what do you plan on majoring in?

^
That is true but cmon, its USC. Just the expierience and tradition at that school.

my efc is pretty low so money shouldnt be a big issue… im probably gonna major either in business or biology

USC for Business…UCSB for Bio. Thats kind of a tough choice.

If you are thinking about going into accounting for business…I would go with UCSB. Since they are pretty good in accounting and definitely better than USC in Bio.

If you aren’t specificly sure about what concentration in business you want to go into(which I am guessing is your case), I would choose USC for business. You will have a wide variety of business classes to choose from, which is what you need as a freshman.

i mean if you really wanna shell out 50 k a year to live in south central then go to usc… but ucsb is much better financially… and usc is not exactly in the best area

i wish i had your choice. dont get me wrong, ucsb is a great school & im not going to bash it since i’m going there myself, but cmon, USCCCCC! if money isnt an issue for you, then i would definitely go with USC, no matter what you’re majoring in.

I don’t understand what is so special about USC. I would rather go to UCLA.

Personally I would go to UCSB. USC is in the ghetto, those huge walls they have around campus are to protect you from getting hurt, not for their looks. That’s why I didn’t even apply to USC.

UCLA over both though if that’s an option.

For Business - USC all the way. Their accounting program is ranked in the top 5 in the nation, it’s a whole separate college.

I agree they do have one of the best accounting programs. I still would go to UCSB for accounting.

Just to add to the comment above…

UCSB’s accounting program is really good as well. It just isn’t considered a full fledged accounting program because they have an emphasis in accounting. The accounting firms recruit heavily from UCSB regardless of the fact that it is an emphasis (not a concentration).
