USC School of Cinematic Arts vs NYU Tisch

I'm a high school student residing in So Cal, about an hour away from USC.
I just found out that I got accepted to SCA's Writing for Screen&TV and Tisch's Dramatic Writing. And this was so unexpected, since I was crossing my fingers for acceptance into at least one of them.

I'm aware that both schools have top-notch film programs, but as far as screenwriting is concerned, which is better?

SCA was my first choice because of its proximity and its location near Hollywood, but I think what should matter the most is their style. I often hear people say SCA is blockbuster whereas Tisch is more indie. If this is true, Tisch sounds more suitable since I was never a big fan of Avatar, Star Wars, Iron Man, and other blockbuster movies.

Friends that read the scripts I've worked on tell me that they could see it turning into a indie film. And I agree. Personally, if there is one philosophy I have, that's to script a movie that has a message, a meaning and I think blockbuster movies tend to lack it. (not hating on blockbuster)

So can you guys offer me some words of advice? Or simply some info about either school's writing program? Thanks!

If you can afford to pay for NYU and you want to go there, then go there.

if you need aid (and qualify for aid) then go to USC because NYU won’t give you much help.

I’m also in the same situation having to decide between USC’s school of theatre between NYU’s tisch design major. And from what I have seen online and heard from a lot of people, is that NYU has the more intensive, rigorous program that can train students to be the best they can an actually improve their talents, whereas USC is still more of a slow college life wanting you to make the most out of your 4 years. NYU looks to me to be more of a practical job training school and will guarantee a job after graduation. I’m also trying to see that, and I want to go to USc for its weather and slow pace, but I know logically i should go to nyu for practical reasons. I’d say LA would have also lots of opportunities in hollywood, but NY would also be good at the skills training and acquiring taste in NYC, whereas LA really has no culture.
