I have the “being reviewed” status… but I’m RD (is this relevant?)

No, it’s not relevant since USC doesn’t have EA … although I guess some people think it does because of the earlier Dec 1 deadline for scholarship applicants and the fact that it appears decisions on those (maybe only some of those?) come out the chute first.

My status has just changed to, “The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you have not received our written notification, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone 10 days after your letter was mailed.”

I’m pretty excited! I hope this means good news…

In case anyone is curious my status was updated to the “Forwarded to the committee” status a few days ago.

I envision USPS deliverers being hounded at each home of a USC applicant. LOL!

Congrats College182!
and luck to everyone else!

My status changed too!

Just curious… have any of those whose status has changed to either “forwarded to” or “acted on” also applied to the Baccalaureate/MD program?

^ I applied to the Bacc/MD Program and my status is still “being reviewed”

TomisMom, just to let you know, early acceptances go out according to college I believe. Bacc/Med candidates ones may be informed of acceptance a tad later. A friend of my D, who is a Bacc/Med with a Trustee, received her package early in 2008 but not in the very first wave. I assume your son or daughter has already done the Bacc/Med interview.
Best of luck!

^ Bacc/Med interviews haven’t been sent out, the website says “late january/early february”

Thanks for the reply–S has applied to the Bacc/MD program but his status is still “being reviewed”. Hopefully all is not lost in terms of a chance at some scholarship.

If Bacc/Med interviews have not yet been conducted, wouldn’t a decision not be able to be made till afterwards? I’ll have to ask my D when her friend was informed of her acceptance and scholarship. I do know that scholarship interviews take place in late February (Trustee) and early March (Pres), so I’m not sure what the time frame is for advising Bacc/Med scholarship candidates, but it would have to be done quite quickly after the interviews.

Some vague memories of the Bacc/Med process:

Students being interviewed were first admitted to USC. Those admission packages came in late Jan/early Feb, followed by the interview invite a week or so later. Many of the Bac/MD candidates ALSO received Trustee/Presidential invites, but not all of them. (I am aware of one candidate who was not admitted to the Bac/MD program, but was admitted to USC and awarded a Presidential.)

In other words, if they like you well enough to invite you for a Bac/MD interview, they first admit you. I know of none who were interviewed for the Bac/MD but not admitted to USC.

"The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you have not received our written notification, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone 10 days after your letter was mailed. "

Just got that change, was part of the “forwarded” status bundle. Good luck everyone!

i’m jealous! apparently, school of arch. doesn’t do early actions

Technically speaking, USC does not have Early Decision, Early Action, or Rolling. The scholarship notification is basically kind of like Early Decision, but w/o the restrictions of ED.

More like early/priority notification than EA/ED… but yea.

Am I the only one a bit frustrated by reading the same status check/decision-related information in so many repetitive threads? I thought this one was working perfectly well, but now there are about eight different ones for every nuance of the subject, often with the exact same posts.

I only have so much time to obsessively read! :)

Hey guys! So I didn’t apply for any scholarships (but I turned in my application by like the end of October). I called the admissions office today and they said that they had all my stuff (that my file was complete). Does that mean my status will change soon? If I didn’t apply for scholarships am I going to have to wait until March for a letter?

Thanks so much!

My status still says “submitted”. Does that mean anything at all?!
