Wait so they have sent some already? What indicates they have sent yours?

No, I have no idea if they’ve sent some. Just from reading posts last year, typically status changes and acceptances occurred on the same day. And the letter came a few days later.

Do you guys know what is the most progressed application status?

“Forwarded to committee”
“Being reviewed by committee”

I’m also confused by this. It seems logically that forwarded committee would come before reviewed by committee.

Right…

I will go check the mail in a bit, I live right by USC so if they sent anything I would get it.

to cowman809: I got the being reviewed by committee first, then the forwarded to committee status. Hope that helps

The mail finally came. I didn’t get anything from USC, but I got my US Presidential Scholarship candidacy notification :D

…sorry, I’m just too excited.

lol I don’t get that flow of logic

Wow soadquake981, me too! I just checked the online list.

Nothing from USC in snail mail today.

I don’t get it, what happened? You know you’re a candidate for the Presidential Scholarship at USC? or is this not related to USC?

Not USC - The USA. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/852975-2010-presidential-scholar-nominees.html
Congrats soadquake981 and tebowforheisman!

Yeah, sorry to get off topic.

Congrats, soadquake981!

So, basically, people whose applications are currently being reviewed turned in their stuff by the Dec. 1 deadline?

I turned my stuff in by the Dec. 1 deadline and mine has not been “forwarded” yet, so I think people are right in assuming the “forwarded” ones are people who will most likely get scholarships. I guess it’s too soon to tell and we’ll just have to wait to find out.

Mine was by Dec. 1, based on my SAT scores I won’t get scholarships (I will get the NTSAF one though).

OMG. I AM SO NERVOUS.
I’m still on the
message, but HOLY MOLEY am I nervous.

I’m like SUPER median for USC (30ACT and 3.85 gpa)
But I know that I could still get in. My essay was pretty good and I have long lasting extra-curriculars (ones that I’m strongly dedicated to, not ones I picked up to look good).

ANYWAYS. I’m so scared!
Like most of us here on CC, USC is our first choice, and it’s mine too.
But I’ve already gotten acceptance from everywhere else I applied. If I don’t get into USC, not only will I have NOT gotten into USC, but it’ll have been the ONLY school I was rejected from.
SO ANXIOUS!

(Oh, I still need to file FAFSA and CSS. I don’t think it will be possible to get it done by Feb. 2nd, though I’m going to try! My parents make WAY too much money… ): )
I also have yet to submit my mid-year grades.

Does USC ask for this, or do I just have to do it on my own?

oxolojo, I feel the same as you do. Actually, our situations are exact. I’m at the median as far as stats for USC. At the same time, however, I have impressive ECs with leadership roles and an essay I feel sets me apart. I’m also a URM. But I know anything can happen. I have the same status as well.

Honestly I don’t think it’s something to read into that deeply. I just wish that I didn’t have my heart set on only one university. Literally, I feel like USC is the ONLY school that can make me happy. (I’m also applying to Northwestern and Cornell, and I would never dream of picking these schools over USC). Anyway, good luck, I feel your pain. :(

And I’m wondering the answer about the midyear reports too… even though I haven’t even had final exams yet.

marmar16, what are your stats, if you don’t mind me asking?
And I don’t even have URM going for me. I’m a whitey. Nobody wants a white girl with better-than-decent (but not superior) stats whose parents went to college and make too much money to be eligible for most scholarships.
Yeah, I was president of Orchestra Club (and I started it) and I was marching band drum major for 2 years.
Other than that, I went to Girls’ State and was treasurer of Bowling Club.
I’m also a member of NHS. But I mean, other than that. I’m so middle.

Same here! 30 ACT and 3.84 UW. And I have good ECs and several leadership positions, and I had some really decent recommendations, but it’s so hard being stuck in the middle.

You know, it’s like we have a 50 percent chance either way. Which is pretty unbearable.
