Hi guys! Just wanted to start this thread to see how many people appealed and how many will get accepted. I looked through previous threads but I only saw one transfer appeal thread and saw that most people who appealed heard back in these next couple of weeks, so may the odds be in our favor!
Also has anybody heard back about their appeal yet?
Hey there. I just wanted to put some info here for you. I was rejected on June 27, 2014. I appealed by the next week and I received a letter in the mail on July 29, 2014 saying something along the lines of “We’re sorry, but we won’t be changing our decision”. The same year, I do recall 1 person getting in on appeal, but he heard back much faster than I did - like within 2 weeks. I know it’s a bit less recent than last year, but just thought I’d share
Thanks @zettasyntax! Always so helpful! And yes I did look at the 2014 thread and found the person who got in on appeal and I tried contacting them but no luck :(, so hopefully I hear back soon fingers crossed
I was rejected May 27, 2016. I submitted my appeal on June 12, 2016. My appeal was approved on July 15, 2016.
Congrats @Opulence! I have about the same timeline as you. I was rejected on Memorial day and then I submitted my appeal during the same time as yours and I was accepted this week! For what semester?
I am interested in USC, so, may I ask, why specifically did many of you appeal? Thanks in advance.
@SeinfeldFan1 people appeal because they got rejected. It’s a letter to basically tell the committee to reconsider your app because you have new info.
@ohwiseone yes, I am aware. I am wondering on what grounds people generally appeal to USC. Is it usually that their GPAs increase, so they appeal because of that?
@SeinfeldFan1 yes that could be a reason or there’s some other family or personal circumstances that you didn’t have the chance to explain in your original app
Congrats @ohwiseone! I was admitted for Spring 2017. How about you?
@Opulence I was admitted for this fall so I’m scrambling to get everything ready!
Nice @ohwiseone! What’s your major? I specifically asked for Spring admission in my appeal, so I wasn’t expecting fall admission.
@Opulence I’m a bio major with a pre-med focus. What about you?
