Good luck, everyone! I hope to meet you all on campus soon! FIGHT ON! :)>- [/li][/ul]

[li] Comments: I am international student from China. I was computer science major in my old college. I feel that for SCA,Portfolio and essays are extremely important, if your academics are not so strong, don’t worry, they care about your talent, creativity and potential. My GPA is average, but I did spend a lot of time on my essays. Frankly speaking I am lack of skills/tools to build an impressive portfolio, that’s why I think they admit me mainly based on my essays, and also, being a girl studying video games could be a plus:P[/li][/ul]

[] Essays (subject and responses): I can’t summarize my three essays, but I will share with you the messages I hoped my essay would deliver to USC Admission Counselors: confidence, direction, knowledge and interest of business, ambition, diversity (what do I do aside from business), atonement (of past mistakes), determination, depth (if you paid attention to English class, a round character), youth, and dream.
[] Letters of Recommendation: Two. One from an Accounting professor and one from an English-major doctor. [] Other schools applied to: Stanford University (Accepted)
[] Comments: I usually don’t post in forums but felt thankful towards CollegeConfidential for helping me gauge my education level compared to those that apply to USC, so I would like to return the favor with a small act.

If you ever read this, please do not worry in your abilities and hard work, no matter whatever school you may apply to. Decisions threads always make me feel more stressful after seeing them; those that post their decisions are usually those that got accepted, and, well, let me tell you that you’re not alone when all you see is 3.8 to 4.0 GPA, and work experience like “being a CEO” or “managing my own company.”

Coming to terms with myself even before my application process, I realized that I would never gather enough impressive work merits in time for my application to Transfer, so I used what was available to me, and tried the hardest to present myself in the best manner possible as a Transfer student.

So don’t worry about your low GPA, or your next-to-none experience, or anything that isn’t important. Believe in yourself, and know that if you truly deserve to be at USC, or Stanford, or even a random university that I haven’t heard of, you will be accepted. What is left at the end of the day is this question: are you able to communicate your passion and dedication within your application? And to those that truly do have passion and dedication, I think you already know the answer.
