USC transfer

Hey so I’m currently 18 and am about to go to my local community college somewhere in NJ. Over the past 2 years I’ve kinda ruined my gpa because I’ve had a lot of stuff going on outside of school with family and am about to graduate in 2 months with a 2.5 gpa and 1000 sat score. Anyway I was wondering if it would be possible to do 1 year a community college (in NJ) and have a chance of transfering to USC because it’s always been a dream school of mine? I plan on majoring in compsci, mechanical engineering and minoring in economics. I know this time I can maintain a 4.0 gpa because stuff is different now. My friend says I have no chance because a California school will not take me if I go to CC in NJ. Is there anything I can do? Thanks!

tell your friend hes delusional, because USC is a private school and they dont prioritize any school over the other. if you are going to a CC in NJ there might me an articulation history with usc. message me if you want the link

^^That is correct, the school you go to doesn’t matter. You can try to transfer after freshman and sophomore year. You will need excellent grades to do so and to take the best courses you can to meet the requirements. USC has an excellent transfer guide, read every word. It is all there. Search the USC website for everything you can find.

There are a few articulation links, sometimes you need to go through all of them to find something, so you can google USC articulation and different links come up, here is one that is more broad.
