If you are a High school applicant, there is a forum for you - “What Are My Chances”

:wink:

As an OOS you are capped on honors points. http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/out-of-state/

Honors courses are calculated differently. In calculating an out-of-state student’s GPA, UC will grant honors weight for AP or IB courses only, but not for school-designated honors courses. The weight is given to letter grades of A, B, or C. . . . .

“We limit the number of honors points to 4 courses (8 semesters), with no more than 2 courses (four semesters) from 10th grade”.

Remember that it is $55k per year for an OOS student.

If you have not taken any college courses after high school graduation, you are a frosh applicant, not a transfer applicant.

Yes, out-of-state costs at UCs will be expensive.

Those are very competitive schools and, despite your qualification, it could go either way at both campuses.

As others note above, OOS UC tuition is not a good value and there will be no need based aid.

Check out USD, LMU and Santa Clara - all will probably offer you merit money, making their tuition much less than OOS UC.

Good luck.

@ucbalumnus Alright!
@NCalRent Thank you for your advice, I appreciate it!

@IanuariusPanther
You really need a new list. Going to a Calif univ as an OOS premed is just crazy …and too expensive. If you’re serious about med school, the last thing you should be doing is going to a Calif univ as an OOS student.
