USC vs. Emory

Intended Major: Business

Where do you want to end up?

Do you want to get an MBA as well? Perhaps work in California right after undergraduate studies?

My son never considered Emory because Emory is not famous for Engineering.
USC has a combined CS/Business Administration degree if you happen to be interested in Computer Science as well as studying Business. USC is famous for its Alumni network which I read is strong for those graduating in Business.
You might want to ask on the Emory board about its business school and ask here about the USC business school.

I was in the exact same boat, and I chose USC hands down.

a. they have an amazing alumni network
b. you dive right into business classes your first semester. at emory you have to go through two years without taking a single business-related class. but each to their own.

also, la vs. atlanta, helloooo?

Emory is a great school, and although they compete academically, it is USC, you get teh football, and all the other sports, the hot girls, the business connections, and you can do anything in Southern California you want on the weekends.

I had the same decision (well, kind of... I applied to Emory before I was set on engineering). I just didnt like the feel of Emory - too Southern, if you know what I mean. I just felt much more comfortable at SC (ok ok, and they had an engineering school, and some scholarship $$$...).

You cant really go wrong... just go with your instincts. You will most likely love wherever you end up going out of these two schools.

Good responses, thanks guys.
