I’m going out of town 28th-30th of March so I guess I’m just going to have my dad tell me whether it’s a packet or an envelope… So nervous for this decision, but really want the wait to be over!

I came home from work on Monday and went out to grab the mail. The mailbox was empty. (What?! We get tons of junk mail. It is never empty unless it is a holiday.)

Came back inside and found that my son had grabbed the mail for the first time in 17 years.

Yes, there is nervous excitement in the air!

can you track changes on “myusc” or OASIS regarding admission hints ?

when my brother got rejected from usc, he got a regular sized envelope so a thin envelope should be a rejection, sigh.

Any idea when the DHL/USPS notification by email will hit us? It’ll probably be sent after the 27th right?

One of my friends who got accepted in January ,and she said that before she got accepted, the “Application Status Check” in her USConnect changed into " commitment deposit" . And DHL sent her an email told her that the mail was on the road… So any of you have “Commitment Deposit” in your USConnect ??

Not yet, it’s still looking the same for me! I don’t think it’s going to change for another couple of days either :/

If I live in SD (~2 hour drive from USC), would I receive the decision in the mail by the next day (28th) or most likely the 29th?

I’m an international student. It’s my understanding that international students that are accepted get a DHL package while the people that get rejected get regular mail. Does anyone know when they’ll send the DHL tracking numbers and does that mean you’ve been accepted for sure?

When are they going to post it online?

March 27 is when they mail them out, getting the e-mail depends on whenever DHL scans your package back at their place, which shouldn’t take more than a day.

Yes.

Damn, so I guess by the 28th or 29th I’ll know!

Actually, the DHL emails (in the past and during the scholarship round) have gone out the same day acceptances are mailed. So accepted international students are usually the very first to hear (via the DHL email).

Is DHL/private delivery for international only, and US postal delivery for everyone else?
Asking b/c we have rural PO box delivery only. Privates like DHL don’t deliver to POs.

If it’s regular mail for the US (California)…that works.

My son’s came by USPS priority mail. Early notice in January because of a merit scholarship.

To clear things up (somewhat!) if USC intends to mail decisions on March 27, we can expect the admitted international applicants to receive their email from DHL pre-delivery on the 27th. Those who live in L.A. region (likely all decisions–admit and not) should get envelopes big or small on the 28th and if past US mail deliver is any indication, NorCal and SD regions on the 29th and so on across the country. Some get them a day later just based on mail snafus.

Again, it is only the international admits who will get the email from DHL so they are our lookout scouts.

Wait so does this mean that for an international student, that if they dont get an email on the 27th or around that date then they are most definitely not admitted?

In past years, rejections for international students were sent by regular postal mail and no email was sent first.

Last year the DHL emails went out over two days, they did not all go out at once. So if you don’t receive an email as soon as others post about it here on CC, don’t lose hope.

Daughter was accepted tonight at UCLA. Thrilled but now really anxious to hear from USC. I don’t expect letters will arrive in the northeast until at least Saturday…

^^ Congratulations to your D, Snowdog. Hopefully she will get equally great news next week from USC.
