USC Writing for Film and Television.

So yes I've decided to apply to the Leviathan of admissions offices. I am a transfer student, I just finished my freshmen year of of college at a 4 year University, unit wise I am technically a second semester sophomore (going into my second semester this fall.) I will be attending my current university for another year, because of USC's fall admission rule. So, technically if accepted, I will be going to USC NEXT fall.

That being said, are transfer students frowned upon for this program? Like if it comes down to the last slot between me and freshmen mcgee, will I be the odd one out? Is it strictly merit based regardless of previous units? Also, having completed my gen ed plus some (I have already taken 300 and 400 level classes) will this program STILL take 4 years to complete?

Also, what the hell do I put on the "portfolio"? I get it, all my creative "accomplishments" but let's calm down I'm only 19 I don't have anything published on the white house...yet? I've worked pretty hard at the writing supplements, but the "portfolio" is difficult for me because I don't know what counts and what would come off as, "really? He put making a birdhouse on his creative portfolio?" which I did.

It's all very vague, and there is a discrepancy on their directions one source says submit 10 pages of a writing sample, but the handbook says 15, so I guess the meticulous transfer student will just have to figure out which one is more right? It's all very confusing.

I am looking for answers, please do no say, "call them" because I feel as though I'd make a fool of myself if I called them. My name would no doubt go down on some post it, so they know to reject me when they saw my application.

If you read all that, thank you.
