I’m a junior from Georgia and am wondering if I could get in to USC and hopefully get some scholarship money. I do dual enrollment this year and will do it again next year so my gpa this year right now is a 4.4. Freshman year it was a 4.1 and sophomore year it was a 4.0. My composite ACT score is a 33. Will I be able to get accepted with a decent amount of scholarship money from USC? (I have lots of extra curriculars too like cheerleading, BETA club, NHS, DECA, diving, etc.)
I suggest you post your questions here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/
You should apply because you never know. Getting in may be doable for you. It’s the finances that are the ultimate decider. It’s not called the “University of Spoiled Children” for nothing.
The costs are USC are ridiculously expensive. $70K minimum per year. (My sister graduated from there.)
A number of California residents are eligible for grants, so they can access those monies to pay some of those fees. Current freshman scholarships are posted: http://admission.usc.edu/docs/Scholarships.pdf but most don’t cover housing.
The BIG scholarship monies typically go to the students who are in the National Merit Program but there are other scholarships for athletes and Marching Band. They like alumni and have lots of those types of scholarships.
