USC's Dr. G. K. Prakash Named to India's National Academy of Science

<p>What a week it has been for USC's Professor G.K. Prakash. He received the Samson Prime Minister's Award from Israel and was honored by India as well. He was named to India's National Academy of Science.</p>

<p>Prakash is Director of the USC Loker Hydrocarbon Institute. He holds the George Olah Chair in Hydrocarbon Chemistry. Dr. Prakash has received other honors in his career. He has received two ACS National Awards and the Chemical Society of India Medal. He has been working closely with Dr. George Olah for years on fuels research. He received his Ph.D. from USC in organic chemistry and is Professor of Chemistry at the USC Dornsife School of Letters, Arts and Science.</p>

<p>India's National Academy of Science only names five international scientists in one year.</p>
