USF is back in Lakeland...in a big way!

USF president Judy Genshaft announced today a new partnership between USF Health and Lakeland Regional Medical Center that will create up to 250 new residency positions at Lakeland Regional. The alliance is part of a new initiative of Dr. Stephen Klasko, senior vice president of USF Health, to enhance collaboration between hospitals and the university, called the USF Health System.

The partnership with the Lakeland hospital is an end around play getting USF back in Lakeland after Governor Rick Scott and the Florida legislature earlier this year stole the USF Poly campus in Lakeland from USF and allowed the creation of the new state university Florida Folly University in Lakeland.
