I am going to be heading to college this year, and need some advice. From what I’ve gathered, both schools seem to be pretty equal. As of now I really don’t know what I want to major in or what I want to do past college, so it makes my decision really difficult. I know UCF has better engineering programs, and USF is a better track for med students, but since I don’t know what I want to do, this doesn’t mean much to me. I’ve heard UCF is newer and more updated, although many of the posts about this topic seem to be from 2006-2011, so maybe some students currently attending or that have graduated more recently could give me some insight. Any help/insight is greatly appreciated.
UCF is a more self-contained campus. USF has the city running through it.
I’m going to be attending UCF in the fall. It’s all about what you want out of your college experience honestly (and what your interests are). UCF, being the larger of the 2 schools and being super close to the Orlando theme parks, has 65,000 students. Granted, many of them are commuters, but if you’re not someone who likes big social situations, I don’t recommend this school. I have a good friend who goes to USF and she loves it there, but it’s a lot smaller. They’re both amazing schools with so much to offer though. Maybe talk to a guidance counselor at your school about what they think since they know you better than we do.
