<p>In the blue book for essay examples, someone used nothing but personal examples and hypothetical crap and got a 6. what the hell is up with that?</p>
<p>1) Subjectivity plays a role, but the bigger factor is </p>
<p>2) Writing skill. Quality over content. Someone could use a personal experience, a historical experience, and a literary experience and write a terrible essay.</p>
<p>CC'ers tend to approve of everything in the blue book EXCEPT for the essay tips, so completely ignore the essay portion.</p>
<p>but it's ade by the test maker...so it's all correct</p>
<p>I got a 12 on the essay and used Political and Historical examples to reinforce my thesis. Also, use quotations from credible individuals. Please, do realize that the people who score the essays aren't as fastidious as most of use percieve them to be.</p>
