I want mine soo bad. I waited 7 months for the appointment, I can wait less than a week for the paperwork I guess. GO NAVY!

haha the amount of paperwork in that envelope was amazing! I laid it all out on the dining room table and started going through it with my mom today. Its def. a process!

2010- its getting closer!!!!!

GO NAVY!:D

It's still in a pile on my bed...lol. Yeah, I really should start sorting it out and begin filling out all the forms. That's going to take a little while. That's definitely a nice tidy packet, though. June 28 is getting closer. 0915 is my report time...

Sending out the daughter's acceptance papers in the morning. They arrived Friday. One step closer but, from what I'm hearing, there's a lot more paperwork coming with Permits to Report?

I believe everyone has said to send birth certificate and paperwork (ALL paperwork) return receipt, right?

Probably a good idea, but I didn't and it was cool (if you want to save some money).

Anyone have any idea of what the "Patient Registration Form" and "DNA Packet and envelope" look like. I can't seem to find it in the package I got... Is it attached to something else? I have the envelope, immunization form, and prescription form.

I didn't send anything return receipt. I waited about a week, then we e-mailed our regional coordinator who e-mailed back confirmation that it had arrived. We had no problems.
I also called the place I sent the fingerprint card to make sure they had received it.

You guys (girls) who are reporting at 9:15, how early are you going to go? Everyone tells me we need to go super early. It will be funny to be in line and maybe some of us will be standing together and won't even realize we have met online!

We haven't even gotten our packet- how I WISH we would because this is my son's spring break and he NEEDS to have a pile of papers to focus on! NavyMom2B- could we all wear a yellow carnation? Or how about I wear a 3X5 index card with "WSJMOTHER" taped to my back? My son would be mortified...... any of you plebes have a better idea?

I would plan to be at Alumni Hall approximately 15 minutes prior to your reporting time. If everyone arrives too far in advance of their reporting time, the line gets super long and it doesn't help anyone. They give you different times to help alleviate the long line and to make the entire inprocessing flow much better. You do not have to pass through the doors at your reporting time, you just need to be in the line outside Alumni Hall around that time. If you are staying within walking distance, there is no need to rush. Have a good breakfast. That will be the best thing that you can do for yourself as it may be a very long time until you get the chance to eat. There will not be a long line at security as they will get you through the gates quickly. The shuttle from the stadium is a very efficient way to get onto the yard and they will run frequently that day. Do not try to drive on the Yard unless you have a pass already in your hands!

my daughter got hers and same as all of you we were overwhelmed at the amount of paper. Havent started plowing through it yet, but will comment on a few things: had a large laugh at the glasses (the form that ask you to choose a frame style)! And had a serious talk about preparing for future prompted by the life insurance information.

She has a 9:00am report time, and we are staying overnight in Annapolis at a B & B just 1/2 block away. We can be there anytime and was wondering if its worth getting there much earlier? Any one else staying in town overnight before I day and want to meet up at a central spot and introduce ourselves?

sparkleandshine
We don't have them either....along with an emergency card....
yep, USNA will be getting calls today from several of us on this

OK, I just got off the phone with Nominations at USNA
They are getting calls about the missing forms...
The lady asked me to say to all of you....

1) They changed their minds on the DNA forms, so don't expect that and dont worry about that request

2) Call 410-293-4392 to request forms

3)They will mail you what you need and it's OK to wait until you get those forms before sending everything back.

The lady in Nominations told me I actually was transferred to her private line and hopes my posting this will save alot of extra phone calls.

So all of you, check out your envelope and use the number I just posted to contact USNA on missing forms.

Morning peskemom. I think we're going to have to re-name you SUPER-peskemom! Sounds like additional "required" documents may be missing outside the not-required DNA stuff?

I'm sure you just saved many a lot of fretting with the number posted. Now ALL I have to do is wait for Sis's Permit to Report so I can start phoning!

Thanks again.

Re:The emergency contact info sheet. Is it attached to the life insurance sheet? I think this is the form they are referring to...We just got it yesterday and this isn't going to be fun to complete...to say the least. Also it looks like the entrance fee went up $300. Also none of it is in order. I am just in the phase of organizing the sheets to see if I have everything. Jake's sign up is 6:30am.Now thats early. What will they do with him all day?

Since Jake is going to be alone... please be on the lookout for him!

Knowing the growing CC USNA crew, and from the outpouring of support and information given, it's a safe bet that at least 30+ mids are going to be pretty well covered.

I'll do my best to get some pictures for you Oregon Mom.

Wvdad...you're so sweet with your comments...but I live by Luke 12:48...'where much is given, much is required' and try not to let the fact that I have a fair number of skills in consulting/managing/getting information go too much to my head. Thanks much. :-)

As far as my calling this morning, the Admissions switchboard put me through to the private line of the head Nominations lady. She was surprised that they did that. But heck, I'll talk to anyone who can help! She is the one who encouraged me to give out the other number.

And one more comment wvdad....Peskegirl will be alone on I-Day too!!! 6:30am on....I do hope you can get a shot of her too!

6:30 report time----not to worry, they will have plenty for them to do! :) It takes a huge amount of time to figure out where they want you to put everything that they give you. They even give you diagrams of how to organize your locker, how to fold according to regulations, etc. For someone like my son, that was a challenge in itself. It still brings a huge smile to my face to hear him talk about folding his clothes and ironing his shirts. If your son/daughter has an early report time, they will most likely get the opportunity to actually have a meal sometime during the day. It took approximately 2 1/2 hours to process through Alumni Hall from the time they stepped through the door until they emerged on the other side in their working whites with their noses in a copy of Reef Points. Of course if a candidate runs into problems with any processing or gets delayed in medical, it could take much longer. Somehow, they all do manage to make to the ceremony that evening. Talk about looking for Waldo! They do look alike and it is hard to pick them out with no hair on their heads. If your Plebe is a female, you will have a much easier time trying to find them when they file in. It is a pretty amazing transformation in a short period of time.

Report at 9am!
