USNA Summer Stem 2017

My son will be there next week as well. (rising 9th grader). We are from Nebraska. He knows nobody else so this should be fun. I am flying out with him and then continuing on to help my daughter move (USNA 09) to Maine. He is excited about it. Maybe they will meet. His name is Cian. (pronounced Kee -in)

MyCatBarks, As a rising 11th grader, by being waitlisted, you clearly show some positive traits that are attractive to the Naval Academy. However, there also are some obvious holes in your application or you would have been accepted straight away. Perhaps geography is a part of it, but only a part. I would use this time to evaluate your entire application (including personal statements) and see where the disconnect is. You are young and I understand disappointed with the decision. You also have no way of knowing what the entire accepted class looks like in comparison to you nor do you realize that there are many more criteria that USNA uses to evaluate candidates than just grades and test scores. The next year will go by in a blink of an eye so the more you do to square up your candidate package now, the better. Good luck to you.

My son Jason will be there today. He is a rising 9th grader.

@aidanrockne May I know if SAT/ACT score is required for a rising 10th grader to apply?
