UT Appeal Process for Different Major?

I was wondering how was UT's appeal process for a different major such as McCombs. Although I was admitted to my first choice major, I started to change my mind over the course of the year about my interests and I feel that I may be more interested in McCombs than College of Natural Sciences.

I was told by a McCombs student representative that I still could appeal the decision to change majors even though he said it was unlikely. I have many new merits and accomplishments from my initial application and I think it would be worth it to have a second look.

Does anyone know the latest date one could appeal for a different major? I know that it said requests usually were in April/May but is there an officially deadline they would not consider it anymore? Does anyone know of someone who appealed pretty late like in June? If so, usually what is the response time?

Thanks!

By the way, is the appeal process separate for freshman and transfers?

Has anyone had luck appealing late?

Bump if anyone has any information.

It may be kind of difficult transferring into McCombs, since it’s so selective. I would say just take prerequisites and entry courses your first semester, then try to do an internal transfer. Internal transfer requirements can be found on the UT website.

get a 3.4 GPA and take care of the indicator courses and transfer internally
