Hi, so I applied to McCombs at UT and I got CAPped on Friday. 3.97 UW/102.775W(~4.3 I believe) GPA, top 11.5% in a competitive Texas public high school, SAT - 750 M, 680 R, ACT - 31 twice, 32 super score w/higher math and science subscores, as well as 4&5’s on all of my AP tests except AP physics 2 (3). I am considering doing an appeal just because I really have nothing to lose, I am very aware it is mainly successful for mistakes in transcripts/scores, etc., but since the question is about change, I was wondering since all of high school before senior year, I was more interested in RTF. I did a bunch of extracurriculars that showcased my interest in that, until summer before senior year I just questioned everything and after working through it and evaluating my strengths, I really knew I wanted to do business, so none of my extracurriculars really showcased that. If I appeal and even got PACE, which I’ve heard has happened sometimes, I would be ecstatic with that. Is it possible that I appeal to show how I’ve been able to demonstrate my interest in business this year, which I haven’t been able to showcase previously and get anything out of it?
I wish you the best of luck in your appeal. I (personally) don’t think it matters that you might be able to demonstrate your interest in business this year. I feel like if you aren’t in the top 6% - competitive high school or not - it really doesn’t matter. You have nothing to lose but I encourage you to keep your expectations low. Good luck!
@wannabebusiness was your appeal accepted?
