UT Austin automatic admission rule

I was not top 7% when I applied to UT Austin in December. But I’ve recently received a new rank and I moved into the top 7% ranking after all the grades were entered for the first semester of my senior year. However, I have not gotten my decision from UT Austin yet. And I was wondering if I should wait until I get my decision on March 1st or upload my updated transcript through the uploading system before I get my decision to be sure. Any suggestions???

  1. Speak with your HS college counselor
  2. Email or call your UT admissions rep.

Both will know much more than anyone on this board. That’s an important question that could make a big difference.

Is anyone else in the same situation?

I live in Texas and I believe the rule is that the rank considered for admission is the one at the end of junior year. But I agree with @uclapack that you should ask your counselor, they probably know a lot more about how it works.

@nerdbelle @uclapack thanks. And yea I called them and they told me to wait until I get my decision. But I was wondering cuz I read a reddit post and it made me wonder if the same thing applies to me
