I'm feeling a little nervous. A lot, actually. I'd really like this process to be over! But here are my stats-

I've had 1 B throughout all of high school and it was in my sophomore year. The rest are A's, all honors and AP's! I've had:
AP US History - 5
AP Lang - 5
AP Macroeconomics - 5
AP US Government - 3
AP Psychology, AP Lit, AP Spanish, and AP Enviro are pending because I'm taking them this year.

SAT: 2120, CR: 730 Writing: 750 Math: 640

ACT: 32, English: 35 Reading: 33 Science: 31 Math: 28

US History subject test was a 750.

I have almost 700 community service hours between tutoring kids at an underprivileged elementary school and working at the Boys & Girls Club. I've also participated in Habitat for Humanity, Best Buddies, and Special Olympics.
I'm a youth group leader for kids, as well.
I was in student government my junior year and honor council my freshman and sophomore years.
I ran Varsity Cross Country and track my 4 years and was the captain of cross country for 2 and track for 2 years.

What are my chances to Texas? Will they admit an out of state student of my level?

I have very similar stats as yours and haven’t heard anything (in state auto admit). I am certain you will get into UT, but maybe not your major. What major?

I’d like to major in biology, which is tough. It’s comforting that you think I’ll get in! My backup was a liberal arts undeclared major because I’m big into studying Spanish. I’d be ecstatic just to get in to the school.

This is all my opinion, but I really think you will get into Bio. The only major I was iffy about is engineering. You have good AP scores, tons of volunteer work and and - I’m assuming - a good GPA. I would bet a lot of money that you will get in. UT is supposed to be sending out a wave if admission - done quote me- today or tomorrow!

This is reassuring. I’m not going to count my chickens before they hatch, but my nerves are reduced. I neglected to put my GPA in there- a 3.99 with the one B UW and weighted around a 4.5. Weighting is so weird that I didn’t think it would help that much. Thanks a million, and congratulations on the auto-admit! Best of luck on your major and I hope to join you next year in Austin!!

Mr. Dr. Prof. Sir. MrDrProfessorSir (that was supposed to be a joke, it failed, but I’ll keep it anyway),

Where did you hear that they’re sending out a wave?

One of my friends talked to the admission people at UT (they are anxious too) and they “hinted” that there would be a wave soon. And if you think about the pattern, it makes sense. They sent out a wave two weeks ago. If they send out another wave every two weeks, it will lead to march 1st (the decision deadline). It will be Feb. 1, feb 15, march 1.

So, basically it is a rumor that I have heard. It seems logical to me though. Hopefully it is true!
