UT Austin Class of 2021 Thread

@ACT2017 --Same!

@carachel2 - agree. I am not able to connect the dots on the process. Hope we hear good news soon and your DD change her mind to stay in state. I believe it’s 3 hours drive for you? It will be 20 minutes drive if my DS get in to UT :((

@flowerchild01 Have you heard any news about the COE?

Nope. I wish

Randomly checked my portal. Accepted to Mccombs OOS
3.78 at very competitive HS and 35 ACT

Congratulations @young177 Did the acceptance happen today or you checked today after a long time?

@young177 Is the 3.78 weighted?

@Glee I checked after a long time
@Tobyles No but I go to a very competitive high school. Average accepted to UT Austin from my school is around 3.6ish (not too many people apply though). If you PM, I can tell you what high school it is.

at this point im going to start lying to myself to make myself feel better 1300 sat = 1500 sat theyre roughly in the same ballpark here i come engineering eye twitch intensifies

I emailed a guy at admissions and he said they will review late apps, so here I am sending in an application to UT austin 3 weeks late. Quote from the email i got: “Late Application are still reviewed, however admittance is based on availability in your major of interest after On-Time Application are reviewed and On-Time Decisions are made.” I’ll be EXTREMELY surprised if they even consider it, lol. I have to send in a paper app, it’s not fun. Anyone have any experience with late apps?

Has any international student applied to cokreal engg school has got his decision ?

R.I.P English ^

@USUG21 Let me help you here. At the University of Texas at Austin, the engineering school is named Cockrell School of Engineering. It’s affectionately known as ‘Cockrell’. Not sure if your auto spell check is playing with you.

Found a nice, little, Texas Exes video about the Cockrell’s. Ernest Cockrell Jr., the namesake, actually graduated UT in 1938. The video has his now, much older son, who runs their foundation.

Hang in there and Good Luck everyone.

Just found out by looking at my portal that the transcript I sent in won’t count because it doesn’t have my class rank on it. Not sure what to do since my school doesn’t reopen till January 5th and my counselor told me she can’t put my class rank on the transcript. Hopefully they’ll still consider my application even if the supporting materials are late. I guess I’ll give UT Austin a call today and see what they say.

@TXDad56 What a thoughtful and helpful reply.

Does anyone know if there will be a January admissions wave? I saw earlier in the thread that there won’t be a January wave, but the previous years, there had been a January 3rd week admissions decisions have been released.

@Sganesan I"m not sure exactly, but it seems I won’t be able to submit my application until mid-January or so. That means either my application will be ignored or they will release a few decisions a little bit later. I turned in my application before December 1st, but my transcript didn’t have my class rank, so I have to figure that out. I’m guessing there might be some admission decisions made in January.

@Sganesan Nobody here knows when UT admissions decisions will be released. Everyone is guessing, based on what happened in prior years. My suggestion is to relax and enjoy the holidays and try to think about something besides your college apps. No amount of stressing over it will change the outcome or the date you find out. Log out of your CC account, spend time with friends, and enjoy your winter break. Happy Holidays to all!

anyone heard from liberal arts honors?

has anyone heard from COE?/ does anyone know when COE will start releasing
