@tb2000 i was just admitted to the SOA Monday and i did not submit a portfolio, in fact, they told me do not send one in or we throw it away and don’t even glance at it.
Just came back from a “Visit UT” session for admitted students (to explain next steps in the admission process, etc)
You will be happy to know that there is a big wave of admissions coming on Feb 17, as per the admissions official at the meeting. Around 8,500!
Congratulations on getting admitted and thanks for the headsup. Will this be the last wave?
@Glee if its like the past 2 years then yes it will be the biggest and final wave.
Thanks @amottmers That would mean rejects, CAP & PACE then too
@Glee yep that would mean everyone. :-SS
@amottmers I think international students still have to wait after feb 17th, so feb 17th might not be the last wave. I 'm just guessing. I don’t know when did international students gets their offer.
Few internationals hav already got the offer. So few more may get
I think that’s right. Feb. 17 will be the final round of decisions for everyone except internationals and transfers, who may hear later.
@USUG21 I haven’t found any internationals here who have already received their offers… Could you name some?
8 more days!!! I hope everyone gets in
Counselor emailed us today saying February 17th is the day to be checking the portal and I am OOS. Good luck to everyone

From the Common Data Set, UT Austin admits 17,000 each year so it’s interesting that they are expecting to admit 8,500 next week according to the announcement at the admitted student event. They have, therefore, already admitted 50% university-wide and the remaining 50% will come soon. Good luck!
Did anyone else’s dashboard change this morning? My son’s now has ‘Fall 2017 Housing’ on the dashboard. The Housing tab was always there, but it wasn’t on the dashboard before. App stil says in review…
My daughter’s portal just changed and a financial aid tab was added this morning. Anyone else notice this and have any ideas why it was just added?
did you recently submit the FAFSA?
If they admit 17,000 each year and the autoadmit amount is 75% of the students (who have all been admitted already) then they should have admitted many more than 8,500 (or .75x17000=12750). Then again the number of admitted is different than the number of students that must make up the class. Not sure how yield of the top 7% auto admits factors into how many auto admits make up the 17,000 total offers as it could be well above or well under 75% of that.
No. I sent it in MONTHS ago… I wonder if they are just now reviewing her app?
