@ForbesYe Austin got into ECE at our school Jeffy
has anyone gotten into the richard stans advertising school yet?
@Blazchkowski123 Jan 19th is the next one judging from last year
Ummm soooo am I getting rejected??? I applied in September (non-ranking school) so I should have an answer by Feb but apparently there are only 2 more waves… sooooooo am I done for??? I heard rejections come out last. A+ GPA, 31 ACT, school’s honor society (meaning top 8 of class but no official rank), College of Liberal Arts, International Relations Major. Applied to Liberal Arts Honors 11/05. Anyway does the silence this late into the priority deadline mean rejection? Really done w/ the wait at this point.
Random question: my friend was asking if it was too late for her daughter to change her major and I said yes. Is that correct?
@kateheston111 yes, the deadline for that was December 1st
@pinkzebra1234 Nowhere close to done yet. UT has barely gotten started. Last waves are by far largest. November wave is only 1,200 kids at most. December is slightly larger. Biggest ones are at the end.
@pinkzebra1234 it seems to me that the college of liberal arts goes last with most of their acceptances. I know they are one of the few colleges who really consider people who choose them as second choice major. Your stats look good. Mine is accepted to LAH and to Econ with a 30 ACT and 3.99 GPA but rank would be estimated around 15 - most non ranking schools send out a profile that makes it pretty easy to figure out rank. I have not seen any cola applicants get in yet except the ones who applied for honors-that does tend to step up the process a little.
Hey everyone. So I submitted the Texas Exes scholarship application, yet on my portal page it still says recommended that I complete the application (though I have already done so). Is this normal?
@grad20182022 Yes this is normal! Their application is separate from the UT Direct system so the portal won’t recognize whether or not you’ve completed the application
You absolutely should not be doing that. Not only is it obnoxious, but you are contractually bound to withdraw the other applications. Also, if you kid gets in you’re taking that spot away from someone who might actually want to go. You could be taking that spot away from whose dream school is McCombs.
i’m super late, but does an acceptance come through longing onto the portal, or do they send an email?
Also, I applied for AET, has anyone gotten into that program yet? How many students do they usually accept for that program?
@cocoforcocopuffs they post it on the portal, and then about half an hour later, you’ll get an email.
@kd6410 To think that someone is complaining that their child applied ED somewhere and that a non-binding school “dares” not accept their child on the ED timeline…that’s what you forfeit when you gain the admission advantage by applying ED. BHP in McCombs has higher admission stats than undergrad business UPenn and there is no such thing as gaming the system because, thankfully, binding admission doesn’t exist at UT.
I disagree that ED is bad, in fact, I am very much for it. My issue isn’t that UT hasn’t given her son a decision, it is the fact that she just wants to see if he’ll get in, therefore taking away a spot from someone who might actually go. Not to mention it is breaking the Penn ED contract and is overall a really distasteful move
Stop talking about UPenn and ED. None of those two topics have to do with UT. It’s getting annoying so get over it!
It does have to do with it when someone has committed ED to a school and not withdrawing from UT, essentially taking a spot from someone who could go. And then complaining that they haven’t heard from UT…it’s disgusting and selfish.
I’m so sorry for anyone who has been hurt from what I said. My son immediately withdrew his application from UT after I posted that comment on here. I apologize for all the anger and stress I caused, this is my first going to college and it wasn’t until UPenn sent the email to him letting him know to withdrawal his application that I knew it was a thing (sorry I’m sure many are going to call me stupid for that) I hope everyone gets that acceptance letter they have been waiting for soon, good luck to all and sorry for the confusion!
Can someone tell me how many more waves are coming and their approximate dates and timings?
I applied for housing for UT back in I think November. It didn’t ask me anything about what house I preferred. I got into A&M in October and am just doing the housing app now(yeah i forgot) and it’s asking me house I would prefer and all. Did I do the UT housing app wrong? Or is it because I have not gotten into my CNS major at UT? i got in at A&M for my major.
