I feel like UT admissions is instructed to always say there is going to be no wave. Think about it- people call every time and they always say that, even when there is one.
TBH, I have stopped relying on these waves and have just accepted the fact that I will get a decision on Feb 1. UT is too much. It makes absolutely no sense that an RD applicant can get a decision before a Priority applicant.
Gee, I hope them being behind on decisions doesn’t affect my admission :-?
I remember a few years ago I called to ask about waves and they always said- By March 1( even though they did several waves and the final one has ALWAYS been that third friday in February.) That year they had tweeted a LOT that
third week in February saying it will be this week, then saying not today- like every single day until friday. This year, Their twitter has not been super active since the break. as for waves, the heads up has usually come from guidance counselors who are told directly by their reps . I have not heard of any of that since the december 15 wave. i would not rule in or out the possibility of having a wave today EXCEPT that it seems several people have been told that Feb1 is the date- like they are just flat out sending all of the remaining decisions that day? i hope not.
My counselor said she “heard they might be released soon” this morning. I’m fairly certain they’ll be out today

Really wish UT was more transparent and had more definitive dates, or even just telling us that they’re swamped with applicants and that they’re behind.
I messaged the UT Admissions twitter and asked if we would hear on or before February 1st and their answer was that we will hear BY February 1st.

trying so hard to stay positive… UT has been really disappointing and misleading but there’s nothing me whining about it can do. i’m gonna wait until Feb 1!
