UT-Austin ECON vs University of Houston FINANCE

I was recently admitted to the Liberal Arts school for the Economics major at UT Austin. I was also admitted to University of Houston for their business school.

I have already completed my associate degree at a CC, so no opportunity for internal transfer. Where I decide to go and major is set. Every school accepted my 64 credit hours.

My end goal is to go to the school that yields the best job prospects for working in Finance/analyst positions right out of college in Houston.

Will an Economics degree from UT-Austin be more valuable than a UH finance degree?

I plan to stay working in Houston after graduation.

P.S.
I was also admitted to A&M for Economics if that matters…

Go with either UT or A&M. Easy decision. UHouston simply isn’t that good.

Thanks for the reply!

I’d go with Economics à UT.

Thanks! I think I’ll go with UT and try to stay one more year for a Masters of Science in Finance

Whichever give you the most money. My Daughter graduated from UT Austin last year and got 27K a year job, and also now started paying down 60K loan. Good Luck…
